I rarely leave reviews, but as someone who travels multiple times a month for work - I am very realistic and often choose places like this that are “fine” - and I am genuinely not sure how this hotel has as good a rating as it does. I don’t need fancy. But after not getting my room cleaned yesterday, I reached out again twice to confirm a cleaning for today (week long stay). I left for work at 5:45 AM today. I am just returning now at 10PM. Knowing I was scheduled for a cleaning, I tried to be helpful and follow instructions by placing all my dirty towels/linens in a pile in the tub. After a 16 hour manual work day I returned not only to a non serviced room (totally ok) but I have no bedding or towels to use. I went to the front desk - and fully acknowledge the staff member is simply following policy - but was informed she cannot leave her post at the front desk until another employee arrives in an hour. She did apologize and also told me I am not the only one waiting. So after a terribly long and exhausting day, and knowing I need to be back tomorrow by 6AM for another, I now have to sit and wait until 11PM to go back down to the desk to get linens and towels and change them out myself. In and of itself, definitely not a big deal, but extremely frustrating given the circumstances and price paid to stay somewhere that essentially treats you like a cheap motel. The rooms are serviceably clean. Lots of stains, cracks, chips, etc. but no bed bugs or body fluids. Like I said - I’m not super picky. On the plus side… they will however leave essentials at your door (that you did not ask for or need)??

Front lobby and breakfast were very nice. We stayed on the 3rd floor and it definitely needed a little TLC. The room smelled like mildew or mold. The bed was comfortable. The room was decent. I’m not sure if it was just the section we were in or what because the hallway on the 1st floor was clean and smelled great. Breakfast area was nice as well.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The common areas at reception were huge! The hallways were very long. Not realizing it was pet friendly we were pleased our room was clean and did not smell of dogs since we don’t have dogs and are somewhat allergic. So we had no symptoms so your cleaning standards passed. The drains on the tub and sink were very slow, not clogged, and I mentioned this to the front desk when leaving. I appreciated being recognized as a value guest and was offered a drink for free. When in Lex I’ll be back.

A nice hotel, and I especially want to highlight the gentleman at the front desk, Gabe. Gabe was incredibly kind, accommodating, and genuinely thoughtful in making sure I felt welcomed and cared for after I had very rough night elsewhere in the city. He went out of his way to offer help and showed a level of generosity you don’t often encounter. It’s clear that he truly cares about people, not just as guests but as individuals. I really appreciate the compassion and professionalism he demonstrated - it made a huge difference.
