Quality Inn Merriam Kansas City

Great location, which is pretty much all this place has going for it. Room was clean(ish) but dated. Light mold around the tub. Could tell the carpet has not been cleaned in this decade. Nice pool area, but the water was not heated at all… danged cold. Breakfast was so-so… fake scrambled eggs and chicken sausage (we went elsewhere for food). Only stayed here because our go-to place in Lawrence (Baymont) was fully booked, and it was convenient to where we’d be doing stuff in Lawrence. If Baymont is full again next time, we won’t stay here.

Room was clean and was quiet. They also let me have a late noon checkout. Those were about the only good things. On/off switch on hairdryer broken. Tried to plug in phone charger and the plug just falls right out of the wall, tried multiple plug ins. Hot water in shower had absolutely no water pressure. Then after checking out my card had been attempted to be charged $30, $20, then $10. (I had it locked) I then tried 4 different times throughout the day to call and ask about the attempted charges and no one would answer the phone.

Great location and service, but it is an older hotel and feels that way. We had the suite with three queen beds and it was perfect for our group. The room was dark and outdated but seemed pretty clean. The shower wasn't draining but we reported it late at night and it was fixed by the next morning. The bottom of the bathroom door had scratch marks all over it like someone had trapped an unhappy pet in there so that was a little weird. The pool wasn't the cleanest. Breakfast was fine but a little repetitive after three days. Our experience was good enough that I would stay here again just for the amazing location, but if you prefer a bright & clean feel then this probably isn't your place.
