Hayce and HKF Construction have been a pleasure to work with on two major projects over the past few years! When we redid our front porch, Hayce went above and beyond—helping us through many late-night messages as we refined our custom design, which included wire cabling and horizontal wood slats. She asks smart questions, brings great ideas to the table, and rolls with the punches when the unexpected inevitably happens. Later, when we gut-renovated our downstairs apartment, Hayce and her team rose to the occasion—adding a stunning small full bathroom in a previously unused foyer nook, gut-renovating another bathroom, and opening up doorways in a way that completely transformed the space. One of the things I appreciate most is that HKF provides thoughtful quotes and sticks to them. Even when we hit surprises during demolition or made design tweaks along the way, there were no surprise labor overages—something I’ve definitely encountered with other contractors. Hayce is an ideal partner: positive, responsive via text and email, and genuinely customer-first. She also knows how to work within the City of Somerville’s famously strict inspection process—we passed every inspection on the first try, with flying colors. Any time I had a question or noticed something that wasn’t quite right, Hayce jumped on it immediately—often fixing it herself or having someone out the very next day. Thank you, Hayce and HKF! Hayce and her team renovated my 900 square foot apartment in the spring of 2025. Her team demolished my kitchen and bathroom, installed new cabinetry, counters, floors and tiles all within the timeframe and budget, doing an exceptional job. Our backyard stairs were getting quite soft and not likely to survive another winter. Hayce came down herself to help with the quote and gave us several options including the new granite stairs we chose to upgrade the house. Hayce was with us for the entire process, even with making sure the custom railing was to our liking. The stone veneer they used even match our retaining wall. We're very happy with the finished product and will definitely be calling HKF again for future projects.

We had an amazing experience with HFK Construction. They completely revitalized our basement, which was recently waterproofed after major flooding issues. They repainted the floors, ceilings, and walls. They coordinated the demolition of one wall and the building of a new one. We are very satisfied with the end results and would recommend them!
