Wonderful place for a great day out, whether singly or with family. The interior of the castle is beautiful and the history, with it's links to the reign of 2 English Kings and the Northern Uprising, is fascinating. The Deer Park provides wonderful walking (dogs on leads are welcome) and the new Plotters Forest is an exciting adventure for the children. Fabulous food is available at different points across the estate....the menu at the Yurt is lovely...and we await with great anticipation the opening of the new restaurant and the reopening of the newly laid out gardens. For regular visitors the Annual Pass is great value. Highly recommended.

Castle, large estate, shops, gardens, easy parking. The new development called the Rising is well worth a visit. Fabulous food in the restaurant. Platters Forest adventure park for the children. A large herd of deer in the deer park. I recommend buying an annual membership ticket. See their website for events and details.
