The best gym in Champaign by far! As a student at UIUC for the last 3 years, I was desperate to find an another place to lift at other than the overcrowded ARC. Refinery has great equipment, great staff, and a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend going here for any students looking for an alternative to the other gyms.

Very nice gym in whole Urbana Champaign area I have experienced many gyms before Ken David at customer service desk cares about his customers during his shift, their needs. he is 5 star for this gym. Refinery is an all-around fantastic place to work out. The equipment is top-notch, and there is variety. They also continue to get new equipment regularly compared to other gyms. The trainers here are excellent, knowledgeable, approachable, and professional. The staff is always friendly, and you can tell they care about keeping the gym running smoothly; machines are fixed quickly if there's ever an issue, which is a huge plus. Even though the gym is located in a basement, it doesn’t feel cramped or uninviting. In fact, the atmosphere is surprisingly great, making it an enjoyable space to spend time. The community here is good, and I haven't had a bad experience with anyone; with the exception of the clown in the black truck that always takes up two spaces when he's there. If you're looking for a gym that combines excellent facilities with a welcoming environment, Refinery is the place to be!

Great staff and workout environment. Good variety of cardio equipment, free weights, and machines. Gym also provides fitness classes and quality personal trainers.
