We’ve really loved working with Residence Architects. Their design has transformed how our house will look, feel, and function for our family, not just now, but for years to come. From the very beginning, Connor took the time to really understand how we live and what matters most to us, from everyday routines to those special moments like hosting Christmas or friends over in the summer for BBQ. We wanted a home that made daily life easier and more enjoyable, without having to give up on style or the things that mattered most. Our brief included expanding the bathroom, creating a bigger open-plan space, bringing the garden into the home, giving space for the kids and us, usable bedroom space,and improving storage for our family of four; all within a set budget. What Residence delivered went well beyond our expectations and way beyond what we would of been able to come up with if we had scrimped on who designed our build. It has saved us money by a clever and great plan. The design not only met the brief, but challenged us to think more deeply about what we really needed. They found clever solutions that gave us more, not just more space, but better space, while staying within budget. All while thinking through any future additions we may want to do at a later point . We also loved how they kept meaningful details from the original house and blended them with clean, such as the arches already in our house, modern design touches that give it real character. The staircase and lighting design in particular will add something special throughout the house, a real wow factor. One of our favourite parts of the process was how hands-on and collaborative it felt. From early sketches with tracing paper to the detailed designs, it felt thoughtful and accessible and importantly, clear for the builders to work from. We're about halfway through the build now, and the Residence team have continued to stay involved, offering advice and support as things progress. We couldn’t be happier with the direction things are going and can’t wait to see it all come together.
