My dog was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis and diabetes at urgent care and we were sent to this hospital as my boy required a lot of care and admission. He spent 6 days there and the care was amazing! The communication was excellent, the doctors called me at least once a day but usually twice, once from the day shift and once from the night shift with updates. They also would come and chat with me when I visited my dog. My dog was super comfortable with the staff and they were so kind and gentle with him. On day 6 he seemed well enough to come home, he came home and was super happy and we spent a great evening with him I did call the hospital a couple of times with questions that evening and the next day, and they were AMAZING! But the next morning he decided that he couldn’t fight these illnesses anymore and he decided to stop eating and drinking, I think he just wanted to come home and spend one more night with his family. So the night after he came home we had to take him back, we decided that he was showing us that he wasn’t strong enough to fight anymore, we decided it was time to let him go as much as we weren’t ready to. The staff were so compassionate and caring during that process and explained everything to us. I can’t say enough great things about all the staff, including the staff working at the front desk, they were all wonderful and highly skilled. The pictures are all from him in the hospital, some days he just slept on the blanket in the family room when I visited him. One photo is of my boy before he got sick.

I had amazing service and care for my cat Bibi after he had a urinary blockage about a week ago. I was so anxious and emotional but felt very reassured by the care and compassion I had from the staff. A big thank you to all team members , especially dr Penny and vet tech Jasmine 🩷

My 11 year old dog had a mass protruding from his anal area when he defecated. I brought him to the Riverview Animal hospital to get surgery once I was referred by Dr Mcleod who was absolutely amazing during our first appointment. Dr Arseneault was appointed to my dog to conduct the surgery. I showed up there with my dog in the morning of the surgery to consult with Dr Arseneault. He took the time to explain everything to me in details as my anxiety was sky high given that he is a senior dog and I was going to leave him in the hands of the team to be put under anesthesia for this major surgery. Dr Arseneault made me feel much better by explaining the process and answering every single question that I had that morning. The team called me to give me all his pre-op test results, and they called me before they brought him in for his surgery. Dr Arseneault called me as soon as his surgery was done to tell me that he was doing well. To add to the amazing service received, Dr Arseneault took the time to call me to ask how Bear was doing the next morning and assured me that what I was seeing was absolutely normal! I cannot thank this team enough for their amazing service! Thank you for all you do for our pets.

I heard of this amazing animal hospital from my vet when the teaching hospital in PEI did not want to see her yet. That referral has changed everything for me, my special needs pup, and several complicated cases for foster kittens in my kitten rescue. From the moment you walk in the door, you can feel the love and care for every animal and their families. My pup, Mouse, needed a complicated surgery that ended in the amputation of one leg, and repair to her other hind leg. It was a huge surgery for my girl that led to several complications but every step of the way, I was supported by the amazing team from Riverview. I have referred many over to Riverview, and they all say the same thing. They wish they knew sooner about this gem that is just over the Bridge for us. I have also taken two kittens from my rescue and the babies were treated so well by everyone. Every single staff member I have met there are so amazing, helpful, caring and always take whatever time is needed to explain everything and you never feel like they need to rush along to their next patient. I will continue to bring my Mouse there for orthopedic follows up and anything that my local clinic are not able to handle. Thank you Riverview Animal Health Centre for providing such an amazing service and giving Islanders another option for amazing pet health care.
