Rockingham - West Wellow

Rockingham in West Wellow is a beautiful and atmospheric place with charming decor. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The soup of the day was a creamy mushroom soup – rich, flavorful, and topped with fresh pea shoots and a drizzle of olive oil. It was served with a small piece of butter and a warm, slightly crispy bread roll on the side – a lovely touch. The grilled asparagus with whipped feta looked truly majestic on the plate. The creamy feta was topped with fresh salad leaves and perfectly grilled asparagus, finished with a light glaze. Everything was prepared with great attention to detail. Highly recommended!

A fantastic countryside pub with walking access straight into the new forest. Genuinely decent food and not a rip off at all.

I popped into The Rockingham Arms for lunch with my 1‑year‑old daughter, and it turned out to be such a lovely experience. I ordered their burger, which was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and genuinely one of the best pub burgers I’ve had in a long time. They were brilliant with my daughter too. The kitchen made her a simple pasta with tomato sauce and cheese, and even that tasted great. It’s always such a relief when a place is both welcoming to little ones and serves food they’ll actually enjoy. I also had a cappuccino, which was spot‑on — smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. We sat in the bar area, which had a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I even ended up chatting with a local who was equally happy with his coffee and excited to come back and try more of the menu, which says a lot about the consistency of the place. All in all, a wonderful visit. Great food, great coffee, and genuinely warm hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning.
