As far as the service, speed and effectiveness is concerned my rating will be 5 Stars. My initial call was taken promptly and professionally. The follow up call came within the hour to take the details of the issue and I was given a time window for the following day when a plumber would visit… I was also told that it would be $130 for a weekend end visit … Jason was the person who called me with these details Alex then called and come to my home promptly at 9am right within the time slot of 8-10am that I was given Jason also asked me when he called prior to arriving whether I had a dual sink and I answered in the affirmative So all good until this point Alex came in… extremely courteous and knowledgeable He first asked me if I was told about the weekend rate and I said YES He then said that over and above the weekend chatge of $130 would be the standard visit fee of $50 ( whaaat? ) With 2 backed up kitchen sink I was not in prime negotiating position He the proceeded to tell me that he would first try blocking one of the sinks with him hand and a wad of kitchen towels while using the plunger on the other sink … and if that didn’t work we would have to use a snake which would be $180 per hour… again I agreed Alex then proceeded with option 1 and literally in under 4 minutes both sinks were draining perfectly Alex took more time back in his van writing up the invoice $130+ $50 ( visit fees ) plus his charge for 1 hour of work = a total of over $400 incl tax .. So why didn’t give a 3 star you might ask Because in my opinion, the ethical think for Alex to have done when we knew it was a dual sink was to have told me to try Option 1 myself and if it didn’t work he would come and use the snake He chose not to share that simple technique with me and while my issue was resolved, it cost me a decent chunk of change and a bad taste in my mouth Efficieny is great … but without ethics it’s stinks just as much as my sink did that morning
