Savannah Yoga Center

Hi I’m Jeremy, & I teach yoga at Savannah Yoga Center. But I started out as a first-time drop-in yoga student at who was awkward & nervous & had no clue what the teacher was saying sometimes lol. I had heard things about yoga and meditation that I thought could help me sort through things, but this was a challenge. I was an athlete and a backpacker and a former construction worker, but somehow, to me this was no doubt the scariest thing I had ever attempted…and everyone in the room seemed to be more skillful and “better” at it. 😂 On top of that, I had searched for a yoga studio in the first place because I was not in a good place in my life, so this was legitimately the most awkward I had felt as an adult. But something about SYC made me keep showing up. I don’t know if it was the inviting & safe-feeling atmosphere, or the kind and helpful and friendly staff, or the vast wealth of yogic knowledge & wisdom & experience walking in/out of those doors. It could have been the variety of different and unique styles of yoga offered that made me keep showing up, or maybe it was the healing and strengthening and restorative effects I felt from trying them all. I loved how all the teachers were friendly & skilled & genuine & different & had such unique personalities, yet they were all coming from the same place…they all CARED. Savannah Yoga Center is where I later received my yoga teacher certification, and in retrospect, I lucked out somehow & walked into the most comprehensive and well-presented and deeply knowledgeable training program that I have seen advertised to-date. Their tutelage has allowed me to teach all around Savannah, both in & outside of yoga studios. I work with various nonprofits & local businesses, and I teach kitten yoga too! Never would’ve expected that one lol. But I still keep showing up at SYC both as a teacher and as a regular student, because it is that good of a place to just BE. Gabriella’s class was AMAZING. How relaxed I was by the end of the class was magical. She is such a wonderful, knowledgeable teacher and will for sure have you feeling peaceful! She creates such a calm, inviting, comforting environment in her classes and that makes the experience all the much better! 10/10

Love it! Sarah taught a mindful yoga class that started with an intention to let go of things that no longer serve us. It was an all levels yoga class where you can push yourself or take it down a notch and just flow. I recommend her class and this yoga studio to everyone! Super friendly and knowledgeable teachers who encourage you improve your yoga postures but also remind you to honor how you feel that day.
