I have to say that I attended the Windsor Regional Hospital Oncology Clinic for my Chemo hook-up today. The nurse that did all my work today, her name was Tiffany. This person was So Professional, So Knowledgeable, So Nice, So Efficient, So Caring and the accolades go on. All the nurses in this area seem to possess the above mentioned characteristics. Thank you to Tiffany and The Rest. You are The Best!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. The most important person in my life was diagnosed with breast cancer, battled her ass off to beat it only to find out that they missed, or neglected to check for spreading to her brain and lungs. Multiple times, her scan/test results were delayed, lost or forgotten about and now myself and my family are bracing for the inevitability that she will not be with us much longer. The quality of the Doctors at this facility and MET hospital is abysmal. When a patient is diagnosed with a disease such as cancer, there is no excuse for not exhausting every testing apparatus to make sure to give that person a fighting chance. She fought for every moment, she did everything that she was told to do, and put her faith in the Doctors here in Windsor, the city she was born and raised in, to do everything within their power to help her overcome this disease. Ultimately, they failed her. She expected them to treat her the same way she treated everyone she ever came into contact with, like a person worthy of love and care. Instead, she was treated like she held no importance in this world. She deserved so much more than she received from the Doctors who were tasked with saving her life, and now this world is set to lose one of the most amazing people ever to set foot in it. Edit: I should mention, that this post doesn’t reflect the efforts of the amazing nurses who cared for her as if she was family. My anger is directed solely towards the Doctors who have been taught to compartmentalize to a fault. So much so that they lack compassion, effectiveness, sympathy, and a general self-appointed mission to help and save lives. I wish, more than anything that we pushed harder to get her to Toronto, London, or anywhere else where she would have received the care she needed. Ultimately, she wanted to stay here, where she believed that as a part of this community she would be shown the same compassion, and care that she gave everyone no matter what. It’s beyond despicable that she was nothing more than another patient to the Doctors here and they did not seem to care that she was so much more to everyone she ever came into contact with throughout her life. To anyone taking the time to read this, watching a loved one fight a fight that no one should ever have to, I urge you, whole heartedly to seek care elsewhere. I know plenty of medical professionals, and what happened to my family would have never happened elsewhere and if it did, those Doctors would no longer have the opportunity to practice medicine.

The people who work here are fantastic. Overall efficiency is pretty good. One item that reflects on management irks me. I’m receiving treatment that requires me to come with a full bladder. They have a washroom close by which is helpful after the treatment. This washroom has been out of order for 6 days. I looked in and it seems to be a matter of a plugged toilet. It is unacceptable to further encumber people who are already suffering.

Dr. Cervi is a caring and compassionate, always thinking of her patients and the best way to move forward with treatment.
