TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR APARTMENT BEFORE AND AFTER Regardless of how nice they act, the employees at brownstone must have some sort of incentive program to charge for damages, and keep deposits, THEY ARE NOT ON YOUR SIDE, LOOK OUT FOR YOURSELF. Was given a bill $1-200 greater than my security deposit, and was told the extra I "owed" would be waived. A total of $1200 worth of DAMAGES past regular wear and tear. The SECOND I let Patti from the office know I took before and after pictures, she asked to see them, and I guess after she knew I wasn't bluffing, without even looking through them she refunded my entire deposit. I loved my apt on High St, but I'm not renting through Brownstone ever again.
AVOID! Worst possible slumlords. Rodent infestations, bed bugs, mold, bad/no security. If you want to be told that these issues are YOUR fault as a tenant, and gaslit by the management this is the spot for you! Management constantly letting us down, not communicating, blaming tenants, this is inecusable and most unprofessional people I have ever met. Pam, Patty, whatever. They are awful to work with.
The worst place we ever rented from! My husband and I are on the lease, but they also charge a $75.00 fee for an “additional tenant”, there is mold behind the wall next to our bed because you can hear water leaking behind the wall and see visible bubbles, mold in the bathroom due to lack of ventilation (I was in the er due to thyroid issues most likely from the mold), only one window opens, bug infestations all year round, flooding by the exterior door due to lack of drainage, they prorate the utilities and refuse to provide you with a breakdown (it’s unconscionable to make tenants pay over $200.00 for utilities in a 425 sq. ft. apartment) plus you cannot control the temperature in your apartment and the exposed ceiling heating pipes become scalding hot, lastly my husband’s package was stolen by another tenant and they did nothing to amend the issue. These people do not care about their properties or tenants; they just want to do the least and get the most money into their pockets!
