The care itself is fine other than if you have anything serious don’t bother stopping at South Strand go directly to Grand Strand. What we found hilarious was how an employee in training was dressed like she just came from the beach. No this was not a visitor she was a tech in training. Someone did give her a royal blue scrub jacket that she took off while standing at the nurses station. Save yourself time and money for anything serious drive to Grand Strand to avoid the ambulance bill as well as bills from both hospitals.

I was brought into the er and directly into a treatment room. A nurse came to check on me immediately. She was great. The admin staff took care their duties quickly with no intrusion. The doctor came in and introduced himself and after an initial check he told me what is was in for The doctor returned and went right to work and got me sewed up while displaying professionalism and patience . I liked that he spoke to me in a friendly manner revealing a good sense of humor. I was out of there and home in under 2 hours. Overall a great experience … except for the whole slicing open my thumb thing.

I found my recent visit to South Strand Medical ER to be a good experience. Staff was attentive at Triage, doctor and residents were friendly and professional. The treatment they administered was effective. ER was well run with very little wait time. The only thing I would like to see change is this; if a patient is alone please have an actual person do triage and not have the patient have to enter the information to a system. If the patient is accompanied with someone else they could fill out the triage information, but the last thing a patient alone wants to do is deal with technology.

Came in at 8:30pm on 6/16/2025. Security guard saw me waiting on a bench and asked if I needed a wheelchair. I said yes and he promptly got one. Helped me start the check in process. Very friendly, professional, and courteous. Physician Assistant Ryan did Triage. Very professional, polite, and friendly. Staff also greeted me with smiles and took vitals. The lady who took my information had an extremely nice personality which helps you to be at ease and forget a little why you are in the ER. Brittany gave me a shot to ease the pain and was very attentive and competent. Before being released, Ryan explained everything to my wife and I and went through the medications I was to take and when. I left there very satisfied knowing they did all they could do for me. All this took a tad over an hour. Thanks to all who cared for me.
