Spanners Garage

I actually haven’t used this company yet. I definitely will be using them in the future. I rang to make an enquiry and to make surprise they went out of their way to try and help me. They recommend something they do which could help with the issue I was experiencing. So I tried and it worked and is still working. The garage I usually use hadn’t even heard of the simple fix Spanners suggested. So from me it’s a big thank you and I will definitely be using you at some point.

We used Spanner’s as they gave us the best quote for a cam belt replacement and they say they are French car specialists. We were told that the job would take one day. We took my Peugeot 108 in by nine o’clock on Mon 10th November and were told it would take a day and a half. We accepted this although there was no explanation as to why the time had changed by half a day. On the Tues morning they rang and said they’d got the wrong part and it meant it wouldn’t be ready until the Wed. On the Wed Joe rang and said the car would be ready that day and it would cost a little bit more. He also said that it would need an oil change as the oil was black. We said no as it had just had a full service very recently. We went to collect it and I asked why the bill had increased by £100 He said it was because his supplier had sent the wrong part. I asked what had that got to do with me. He should talk to his supplier. He said he was having a bad day and what did I want to do. I said I would pay the original quote price. We drive home and immediately checked the oil. It was golden and no signs of black. Under the bonnet we found loose nuts and bolts and bits not reconnected. We went back and Joe apologised, said it was his fault, as he taken the car to test drive before the mechanic had finished. He took the car in and finished the job in a few minutes. I think Joe is a nice guy but there were just too many issues, delayed time, increased price and given back before the job was completed. We won’t be using his garage again.

Great garage been using for a long time honest and reliable, very knowledgeable and pricing is good. A+
