Star Freight is a great company to drive for, especially because of the good income and variety of trips. The trucks are leased with a national company, so you can be back running again if you break down! The owner, Trevor, is a young but very knowledgeable and expert in trucking! I really appreciate all that the staff does in order to keep drivers safe and having the necessary support if needed. If you are responsible and strive to make deliveries on time, then Star may be a right fit. Some former employees that I have spoken with say that they wish that they had never left. The only thing that I would change is getting reimbursed for repairing and / or sweeping out the trailers. But not every company is perfect!

As my husbands record keeper who has 20 years of knowledge in trucking I’m truly disgusted and disappointed in Star, also known as LDS , and TG logistic. They were an awesome company when they were a smaller company. Once they started to grow, driver managers became very rude and disrespectful. Almost three years of text to back this statement up. With current text from his driver manager while sitting in the Drs office to be seen from his work related injury . Bad attitudes, come with terrible work equipment. At least his last company allowed him to idle his truck in 20°f weather. My husband was broke down for hours in snow in the middle of Wyoming waiting on a tow and all his company had to say was make a statement about his fuel cost. Well if their rental equipment at least came with a bunk heater, he wouldn’t have to idle his truck in the snow! This company has proven over the last year that they are unable to provide miles for their drivers, so they’ll terminate due to “low productivity” what a sly way to say not enough miles. When yet the company wasn’t providing work as promised. As also mentioned with their promised bonus pay, went from quarterly, to yearly, to they were terminating bonuses, to randomly receiving a 3rd quarter bonus. With weekly camera bonuses. But yet I thought they did rid of the bonuses. They are inconsistent with miles, to promise pay and bonus pay. You might get break down pay, you might freeze with no pay, who knows? They’re payroll employees are gentle hearted and will always have appreciation. Although I’ve never seen a driver go from returning to work due to a work related injury, to having to move between 5 rental trucks in 6 weeks, because they can’t provide proper and adequate equipment. Prior to a break down before his injury, while his truck assigned to him was being fixed, while sitting in the Ryder office talking to Star, Eric must’ve forgotten the call was still going because he made the statement of “must be a dumb driver”. My husband went from being an employee to just another number like every other big name trucking company and another “dumb driver”. Glad I got a good video recording of that statement.

Great company to work for. I once was at a shipper for over 7 hours and they gave detention pay for it! Solid folks.
