Several other reviews have mentioned dangerously worn carpet in the past, and as of 11/2025, they're right. It's on more than one floor, and is pretty surprising to see. But maybe not. Our room was noticeably . . . . . let's say, tired. Cheap or improper materials used in the bathroom were failing from moisture, possibly in part due to an inoperable vent fan. What really stuck out, at least to me, was the smell upon entering the room. My wife thought it was powder used to deodorize the carpet, but to me it had a very odd chemical scent. After a few minutes it wasn't noticeable, but oddly came back upon exiting the room. Points off for no TV channel list and an unplugged clock, but then those seem to be issues in most hotels. Pluses include the comfortable bed with excellent pillows, and good sound isolation. The pool / spa area is amusing, and a favorite of kids. It's a lower priced hotel, and seems to be quite popular, but like I said, it's tired.

This place is really cute and rustic. We did have a couple issues with the cleanliness of the room my husband and I stayed in but those issues were immediately resolved and given compensation for the issues as well. The staff was so nice and helpful with everything that we needed. Even with the few things we're an issue we will be coming back and staying here for sure.

I spent a week at Stoney Creek hotel and enjoyed everything my traveling heart desired. It had easy access to the interstate. Several restaurants were within walking distance. I saw great woodland decor everywhere I looked, even on the switchplates. There was a laundry service with reasonable prices. There was an indoor AND outdoor pool, plus spa, all beautifully decorated. A nice roomy fitness center. And a hot breakfast was included.|So why didn't I give it five stars?|Because things need fixing and obviously have needed so for some time. The carpet by the ice machine on the first floor was so loose that it could trip somebody. Furthermore, according to the person who was using the washing machine when I walked in, the machine only filled up a few inches. She had to pour in buckets of water to get it to wash. I threw my laundry into my trunk and took it home where I could do it for free.|I will still return to the Stoney Creek Hotel if my travels take me back that way. Maybe everything will be fixed and I can give them five stars.

My family and I were traveling to Kansas from Wisconsin and wanted to stop at a certain point to rest, after reading good reviews and looking at some of the pictures they have posted I decided to book Stoney Creek. After driving for 5 hours and arriving just after 11pm I was eager to get to bed, I did the pre-check in which was nice because this was the fastest i’ve ever checked into a hotel. The lady at the desk gave me my key and directions to my room and I was on my way. This hotel had a cozy feel to it and we went through many hallways to get down to our room and every area looked clean. Our room was huge too, my kids were so excited when they woke up to soak in the whirlpool and sit in front of the fireplace watching cartoons. The complimentary breakfast had variety and it was tasty. On our way back from Kansas to Wisconsin we decided to stay here again and got a Cottage - rooms were just as clean, staff was just as friendly, and our kids enjoyed the whirlpool again. Also, the hotel beds were very comfortable I was very surprised I didn’t wake up with my back or neck hurting I actually got good rest.
