I would give 0 stars if I could. We were switching our whole family over to Story City Dental after reading some good reviews- I wish we would have just stayed at Dentist at Somerset (and we are back there). My husband had chipped one of his front teeth & they had said getting his teeth capped would be covered by our insurance (we have the paperwork). They ran it through the system & sent him with a quote we would only have to pay the co-pay. He scheduled with them & got it done. Happy with that service, a month or so later we got our kids in & they "fixed" a few cavities for our 4 year old, within a month the filling had completely failed. We went to get 2 other opinions & the other pediatric dentists said the work done was horrid. He needed to get the tooth pulled. TRAUMATIC for him. Only after we took our son to a different dentist & Story City Dental needed to send them xrays did Story City Dental send us an invoice for $2600 for my husband's work. They had even added an additional $100 per tooth from what they quoted would be billed to insurance. They are greedy & do very inadequate work. I've now seen their replies to others negative reviews & am prepared for even more backlash but I'd hope no one else gets put in the same situation for trusting this provider. In return to your response, this procedure was completed on my husband- not our children. I was there when they did the work on our 4 year old but I should also add, we had scheduled at different times so I could be in the room (text messages confirming the appointments can be found in your system as well) instead of honoring those times, you took everyone back at the same time for your own convenience splitting 2 kids with me & our son with my husband. I had voiced this concern & was ignored by your staff. This isn't a communication issue between my husband & me, it's unprofessionalism from your practice. 3 other dentists now know the work you do on children, but you can justify it however you'd like. You're also messy with your billing to insurance because you've moved that "per tooth" amount around QUITE A BIT. Thanks for being concerned about our "money issues", you seem like a humble person. Are you allowed to state a patients diagnosis on this public forum? That must be new. Neat.

Went in as a new patient for X-rays, consultation and and a plan for going forward. My questions were all answered and my anxiety addressed. I feel comfortable and positive going forward. It was just an added comfort when Bear wandered in looking for someone to pet him.

Absolutely a Godsend! Our daughter has out grown the pediatric dentist who was willing to go to the hospital and complete dental cleanings and exam while under anesthesia. Long waiting list at other places. Our daughter has Down Syndrome and isn’t able to communicate her needs. Story City Dental got her in within a few days for IV sedation and did an exam, cleaning and pulled all 4 of her impacted wisdom teeth. They were amazing with her.

Very nice to work with, very polite and clean. Got me in right on time was a very pleasant experience. I've been going for about 5 years now and have enjoyed the small town dental experience.
