Customer experiences
I really enjoyed my dinner here! The Tandoori chicken was great... some really garganutan chunks of meat in the mix here. I liked how it seemed like there was 2 marinates/seasonings... elsewhere, the paneer was very good and crispy... the little things like pickled veggies were a nice touch both flavoir-wise and aestheically. Great choice for dinner 💯🌈
The only thing better than the food here is the warm and attentive wait staff. They went above and beyond their call of duty and were so kind and caring towards my grandparents. They even gave us some dessert on the house. In addition to that, the vibe and decor of the restaurant reminded me very much of an authentic eatery in India. food was divine and the flavours were authentic.
We had a wonderful experience at Sula! There were 9 of us ladies and we had a delightful table that fit us all comfortably! We shared all our dishes and each of us ordered a cocktail or mocktail and they did not disappoint! All the dishes we ordered were flavourful and a good size. Service was attentive and helpful! The ambience is delightful! We enjoyed ourselves immensely!
Indian food is my favourite cuisine. I always ate at Indian Fusion in North Vancouver, it’s incredible, but I have since moved and need to try to find a new go to spot. I also love Vijs on the higher end and on the affordable side, I worked at and enjoy Palki in North Van for reference. Sula is very hyped as being one of the best in Vancouver, however I think it is overrated unfortunately. I do appreciate that although it’s a little pricier than elsewhere the portions are pretty large. I also appreciated that they actually made the curry medium spicy, not just mild. However, for the price and the supposed higher level of dining I thought the food was extremely bland and lacked any kind of nice touch like a piece of cilantro garnish or a swirl of cream. These small touches make a big difference to me. The naan is nothing special - not fluffy. The butter chicken is clove/cinnamon forward and the texture is very gritty. I could be wrong, but that’s how it tastes to me. It is a major hassle to find a place to stop your car as well. Overall, the hunt for a new regular take out spot continues… I wouldn’t recommend for take out. Just to add - the staff are lovely and the decor is beautiful, just the food I wasn’t crazy about.
Sula Indian Restaurant, Main Street is a indian restaurant.
