Super 8 by Wyndham Cedar Falls IA - University

My wife and our friends had a wonderful experience here. Our room was nice. It was very convenient to have multiple exit doors with parking close to our door. The pool area is beautiful, with a very unique layout that makes it feel like a hotel set apart from the rest. The common areas were wonderful from the restaurant/bar and the arcade. The appetizers were very good and our service and conversation with the bartender Doug were pleasant and friendly. We have already made plans to come back!

Love the vibe of this place! It has so much potential but could use a little TLC. The pool & hot tub area is beautiful an spacious, but missing some ceiling tiles. Our room was very big andcwe loved the midcentury decor, but the bathroom tile floor had been painted with a rubberized coating to make it slip resistant and some of it was peeling away. We were excited for a Skee Ball challenge in the game room, but the machines didn't keep accurate score. Loved sitting outside by the fireplace with a cocktail. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast was great. We will stay here again.

Stayed here on business. I was very skeptical when I pulled up to what appeared to be an old building and vacant lot. The outdoor wasn’t fancy like some hotels. I read the reviews and was more skeptical asking where did my company book my room at?? Entering the decor is immediately different, full of boho tile, art, lots of seating. The staff were very quick and friendly. Instead of the standard room card you got a card attached to a wearable bracelet if you so choose to use it that way which was pretty convenient and unique. My room was brightly lit with unique furniture and fixtures. I was concerned about the bathroom floor which looked like it had been painted over at some point with regular paint and was chipping off. The bed was comfortable. Window screen for privacy and one for light blocking. And the windows are HUGE. Retro in room fridge. Got a free drink token when I checked in. Ended up using that and chatted with staff for a while that night. Told them I was super skeptical about this place and the bathroom floor. One of the staff was actually the new manager Drew and he apologized and said they were working on updating the bathroom floors in the affected rooms and he would make sure my room was on the list to be done. After exploring the hotel I was disappointed I had not arrived earlier to use more amenities. Super fun and unique decor throughout. Huge deep pool. But hot tub. Lots of community spaces to sit and use inside and out. They even have a ballroom with original chandeliers for events. I would like to see them update the lighting in some of the public spaces like ballroom and other public use spaces with brighter adjustable lighting and then it would be fantastic for a wider range of activities. I didn’t get a chance to try breakfast but the space was big. A nice quiet location off the highway. Not a ton of restaurants nearby but they do have the one in house. A very fun unique stay and would recommend. Can’t wait to stay here again.
