The room seemed clean at first glance but after using the shower there was some water on the bathroom floor which I wiped up with the bathmat and I was shocked to see that the mat was black from the dirt on the floor. I wiped in the corner behind the door and along the exterior shower base. The bathroom floors appear to need a thorough scrubbing. But it made me feel concerned about the rest of the room and bathroom. This amount of dirt is not a one-time thing but appears to be from a long period of not washing the floors. We did not see the blackout curtain on the window as it is hidden. We therefore tried to sleep with most of the window not properly covered. With the bright lights from the gas station, I was awake all night. Just a suggestion, have this curtain visible. Another couple we were with also did not see this curtain so had the same issue. An earlier check-in time would be appreciated. By 1 p.m. there would have been rooms available as we saw the cleaning staff start their day at 8 a.m.. $200 for Goderich on a Monday night in the off season does seem very expensive.

My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay. It was our second time staying at this hotel and Craig the Front Desk Supervisor is the reason. We have mobility issues and Craig ensures that we have what we require in our room. Craig is the epitome of great customer service. This is a small but mighty example. I called to the front desk at approx. 10:00 p.m. to ask if there were any cookies. He said no but give me a minute to check in the back. Turned out there were cookies. He could have easily said no there are no cookies and left it at that. Craig will always put the extra effort to please the customer. This hotel has a true gem with Craig. As well, we requested house keeping services last minute on our first full day. We just wanted one thing taken care of. When we returned to our room, entire housekeeping had been completed. I don't know her name. I understand she was a new employee and would like to mention she did a great and unexpected job.

Had a small hiccup with our room. It wasn't a big deal to us,, but manager made it right immediately without us even asking. Above and beyond customer service. Plus it's the nicest Comfort Inn we've ever stayed in. Seems very new and rooms are beautiful. Great breakfast too. Thoroughly exceeded our expectations in everything. We'll be back.

Good location. Easy to get to. Relatively new facility. Friendly staff. Nice to have the breakfast buffet included in the room price, but the food selection is somewhat limited. Guests with gluten and celiac intolerance issues need to take their own food. However the coffee, juice and hard boiled eggs were good. We took our own homemade tea biscuits and fresh fruit.
