Disgusting rooms, whole building smells like smoke. Dirtiest hotel I've ever seen, blood on the sheets. Avoid at all costs. Staff gave a refund when I went to the lobby and told them that we couldn't stay there because of how horrible the room was, at least. Avoid at all costs.
Google wont allow a second review which is really stupid. The inn itself is ok. I've been twice. My room was cold and the TV had no LIVE TV from an error of updating. But the rooms are large and comfortable. Sink, mini fridge, microwave. Lousy coffee as usual-bring you own and use their maker (small basket shaped filters needed). There is no free breakfast anymore which was crappy anyway. Turns out they can book over the counter so employee lied when he said he could not. The booking and customer service for their online site is useless. Told no available rooms by the Inn's site, booking.com had rooms and at a lesser price and with one less service fee. I now have 2 rooms I have to change over mid trip (didn't have to but didn't know till I got there) and 3 service fees for 1 visit. When I called back to the reservation site linked by the Inn, I got dropped 5 times, and told information that another rep said was false. Suddenly the price had jumped more than 200% and no one could find my second reservation. The service fees could not be changed and the man at the actual counter at the inn not only answered with, Hello? but was unable to do anything for me about the fees, 2 rooms, and price. He suddenly did have a 10% discount he didnt have a minute before but the price was already a joke. I would stay again despite the problems and over charge that was by the Inn, the Inn's reservation site and NOT by booking.com Ask for a room at the back if you don't want to hear the train station's loudspeaker every hour all night!
Staff was great, very welcoming and easy to work with. Room was above expectations, only problems were pee/jizz stains on the pillows, black mold in the corner of the main room, no remote for tv, and the toilet door would not close even if locked (turned into a cuck toilet!). Besides those hiccups, me and my husband had a wonderful time in the city center of Guelph! Overall, way better than the 1.9 stars it was given on tripadvisor.
