Tabletalk Cafe Daydream

Note: This review is in English, but the cafe runs mostly in Japanese (many staff can speak a little English though!). This is a great place to meet in Tokyo to play board games and TRPGs with friends. You can reserve tables in advance, and everything you need to play (writing materials, white boards, dice, free printouts of character sheets/resources, etc) is available. The staff is warm and wonderful. The player community is very nice, too. When you consider that in Tokyo, to have 4-6 friends meet at one place where you can use a table for several hours; normally people go to karaoke booths or rental spaces. For about the same price (2000 yen for 4 hours on a weekday evening), you can come to a central Tokyo location that specializes in that kind of thing. There are also light snacks and drinks, like what you would find in vending machines (no cooked food), but you are free to bring snacks/meals in with you. Everything is so clean as well. They do a very good job of taking care of the place to keep it hygienic and welcoming. Finally, the stamp cards are CRAZY. When you play here, you get a stamp card: Play about 20 hours, and you get a 1000 yen discount for books/materials/etc the cafe sells. But if you GM a game (game master/dungeon master/facilitator for an RPG), and you do 20 hours of fun play here, you get 10,000+ yen in discount for sessions and goods. This is a great deal for GMs!

テーブルトークRPGやボードゲームをするところ。 CafeとついてるのでGoogleアンケートから「ベジタリアンメニューはありますか？」みたいな質問がきたけど食事という意味ではお菓子や軽食しか置いてない。 知人やもしくは店の掲示板などで知り合った人が寄り合ってTRPGをする特殊な空間。外観は雑居ビル的な感じなので入りにくいけど入ると思ったよりアットホームな雰囲気(店員さんが)。
