Happy CalculatorThe food here is great, as is the ethos. What is truly awful is the lack of an air extractor in the open plan kitchen. After you leave your clothes will smell terribly of a chip-fat type smell that lingers on until the next wash. Ofc, this will not bother some (and you could always dress in your scruffs/overalls?!). Perhaps more concerning that the ruination of clothing is the air pollution issue due to the airborne particles from the fryer(s). This is also quite unpleasant as you sit in the Cafe. I have raised this issue in a review a few years ago and am dismayed that nothing has been done. In the Crocus cafe's previous nearby location there were no issues with chip fat fumes. I hope they can get something done about this issue as it is really important for customers (Crowdfund an extractor fan perhaps?)

Been here a couple of times now, the food quality is off the scale brilliant, sort of thing you would pay loads of money for at that "number 12" restaurant in town. Crocus have a theme every week and we were delighted by the Croatian dishes this week. Filling, great value, tasty, varied, amazing presentation. It's a not for profit community cafe and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. I 100% recommend.
Will BowlingLovely cafe, great coffees (would recommend mocha with coconut milk), staff are polite and accomodating plus dogs are allowed! Food was lovely and the specials change all the time. There is also a little zero waste/ethical shop in a back.

We especially like visiting when they do the 'small plates' on a weekend... whatever the cuisine, it's always tastes so authentic! We also booked Crocus for our wedding in August 2024. They were really easy to work with and were happy to make anything we wanted. They were especially good with working with various different dietary requirements that our guests had which was a big weight off our mind. The set up at the venue was seamless and the food was absolutely delicious. Thanks Crocus for delicious canapes and wedding buffet!!!
