The Country Inn of Berkeley Springs

My wife and I have stayed at the Country Inn many times as a one-night stopover while traveling. Our recent stay in October 2025 was very nice, as usual. We have found the rooms in the historic building to be quite clean and comfortable. And they are a nice change from the generic rooms found at large chain hotels (although those can be nice, too!). The location in downtown Berkeley Springs allows for easy walking to shops, galleries, the springs and park, etc. We've enjoyed dinners in the pub and hearty breakfasts in the dining room. The staff members are always polite and personable. The wait staff does a nice job even with the place is full and the restaurant might be a tad understaffed. Our recent pub waiter, Bodie, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient, even on a busy night. The breakfast staff were also friendly and efficient (and one remained very patient and polite when dealing with a difficult patron recently). Overall, I recommend the Country Inn highly.

This place is beautiful! The rooms are so nice and clean, the beds are so comfortable. The Customer service is amazing. The front desk staff always welcomed us with the warm smile. We ate at the restaurant, And the food was delicious! The French onion soup was the best I've ever had. Great flavor with the cheese, melted golden brown on top. (Perfect!) I also had the spinach and tomato pasta and it was so good! Our waiter was extremely nice. Nested right in the center of town so convenient to everything. We love it there. We were there this year for the Apple butter festival, and we will be back.

My group of 20 people had a wonderful weekend reunion at The Country Inn. The guest rooms are large and the beds are comfortable (small inconvenience is that there could be more electric outlets in the room). Service (reservations, front desk) was excellent. We reserved an assembly room that we used from early one afternoon well into the evening, and combined it with a buffet dinner that was served in that room. Reasonable price for A LOT of tasty food, and great service. The inn has other quiet areas where small groups could chat, a nice bar and good breakfast/lunch/dinner options. Located in the heart of Berkeley Springs, several members of the group spent Saturday morning wandering through handicraft shops in town, while others hiked in the beautiful Cacapon State Park which is only 10 miles away. The Inn has its own spa (be sure to make a reservation in advance) and is adjacent to the Berkeley Springs State Park that offers an old fashioned roman indoor bath and massage. Nice little touches like free chargers for electric vehicles.
