Customer experiences
I loved my experience with Kura Door yesterday! Shout out to Cosette (highly recommended for the Samurai Massage) and Alexis (highly recommended for facials in general) - these ladies made my day so relaxing and wonderful. This cute facility is tucked in the Avenues neighborhood and while there isn’t a ton of parking in the lot, it’s not too difficult to find a spot on the street within a reasonable walking distance. The staff was really nice and the facility was clean and sanitized - both big wins in my book. There are also lot of different offerings to be customized to your liking and you can spend time at the steam room or quiet rooms with light snacks, water, and tea options. I loved every minute here and can’t wait to go back!
The Kura Door is my favorite place to go for a massage. I’ve brought friends with me as well, and it’s always a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and the added amenities like slippers, a robe, locker room, shower, steam room, meditation room, sauna, and the tea available for clients all contribute to the overall experience. The pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the quality of service and the peaceful environment. I love coming here to treat myself and relax.
just got a pedi with Andrea and she was so amazing!! best pedicure ever! thankful for her and the kura door spa experience <3 it is a beautiful and clean facility!
I don’t usually write reviews unless I’ve had a particularly bad or great experience and unfortunately, this was the former. This place is overpriced for how crowded and rushed the service felt. We paid $250 for a one-hour couples relaxation massage, (Medium to light pressure) plus tip. I always tip regardless of service quality—because, let’s be honest, wages in this country aren’t livable—however this doesn’t mean the experience was worth the price. The two massage therapists working on my partner and me seemed to have tension between them, which made the entire session awkward and uncomfortable. My therapist didn’t take time to ask any real questions about my body or needs—just a rushed checklist. The draping felt careless, and at times I felt overexposed (my lower back/bottom line was uncovered while she worked on my back). While she had good technique and the pressure was fine, the overall session felt hurried and impersonal. When it came time to turn over, I got slightly disoriented due to my vertigo, and her correction of my body position came off as unnecessarily abrupt. Afterward, we were told we could relax in the open lounge area, but it was packed with people and felt more like a production line than a place to unwind. It made me wonder if the therapists were feeling burnt out or overworked. No one on staff seemed particularly happy, which, having managed teams myself is often a sign of poor leadership. I genuinely hope the staff is being supported rather than reprimanded for complaints like this. On a positive note, the red-headed receptionist was wonderful, warm, helpful, and easily the highlight of the visit despite the gloomy feel of this work environment. She's honestly the reason I gave this review two stars instead of one.
The Kura Door is a day spa.
