Customer experiences
We had dinner at The Q in Phillip last Saturday night with close friends and family, and it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a while. We started with the Scallops Royale, Wagyu Beef “la Lot”, and Banh Xeo Tacos — all amazing, but the scallops stole the show with a perfect mix of flavour and texture, possibly sitting on a base of sticky rice and omelette that just worked so well. The banh xeo tacos were another highlight — fresh, crispy, and full of flavour. For mains, we tried a bit of everything — Q’s Wagyu Beef Pho, Chicken Ragout, Saigon Roasted Chicken, Five-Spice Crispy Pork Belly Platter, Char-Grilled Wagyu Steak with Chimichurri, and Lemongrass Chilli Baked Snapper. Every dish was beautifully presented, perfectly portioned, and absolutely delicious. We finished with the Caramel Coffee Flan and Tao Pho (Sweet Silken Bean Curd) — both light, smooth, and a great way to end the meal. The space is modern and cosy, and the staff were fantastic, always attentive, topping up drinks and clearing plates with a smile. Everything felt seamless from start to finish. A very big shoutout to Ben for being an excellent host and helping us with menu recommendations. Highly recommend The Q for anyone looking for modern Vietnamese food done right. We’ll definitely be back!
A Truly Wonderful Dining Experience I would like to sincerely thank Ben and Andy for such a wonderful dinner. 🤩 Every dish was excellent and perfectly seasoned. We were especially impressed with the scallops, eggplant, and the crispy spring rolls (freshly fried to perfection). The dipping sauce for the bò lá lốt was very unique and delicious. The calamari salad was beautifully balanced with its sweet, sour, and rich dressing. The three “Áo Dài” cocktails were a highlight — so well crafted that every sip was a pleasure! Alongside these, the Sauvignon Blanc we enjoyed paired beautifully with the food and complemented the dishes perfectly. The warm atmosphere and attentive service made the evening absolutely memorable.🤗🤗🤗
Wasn’t sure about Vietnamese fine dining because we know Vietnamese cuisine as street food. The taster menu was so good. Need to come back for the other taster menu with the other dessert. It’s tucked away near the Alby in Woden. I have nothing bad to say about any of the dishes. If you’re curious about Vietnamese fine dining, try Q Dining.
The staff here are super nice – still a bit new and sometimes unsure, but very warm and genuinely welcoming. The dishes are packed with authentic Vietnamese flavors that really stand out. I especially recommend the papaya salad with calamari and the crispy roast pork! The manager was also very attentive and took the time to ask for our feedback, which made the whole experience feel even more thoughtful. Even though it’s a bit far from where I live, I would definitely come back. A lovely spot for anyone who wants to experience Vietnamese taste.
