William BlowerA very busy Wetherspoons pub. Always a pleasant atmosphere in there. Never seem to be enough staff working. They work flat out tbh. I had a pint of Doombar, ÂŁ1.49 but it was poor. Lacked body and the flavour you get from a well looked after pint. The Worthingtons is ÂŁ1.10 which is incredible value.
Steve NobleShocking no draft beers. And we ordered food lasagna and steak the lasagna come with the plastic packaging still on the cheese. Complained not for a refund just to inform. The packaging got taken away and we were told a manager would come and speak to us. Nobody came. Staff hopeless more of a meeting place for staff to chat to mates then work all standing around at tables chatting to friends. Worst spoons I've ever been to ever.
Dann T (Ferrgle)Breakfast is good and the staff are very attentive. It can get very busy in the evening. There is seating outside. It is close to the train station. Parking is a short walk away at the NCP which you have to pay for. I have also had a wrap here and that was also nice.
Jim “Jimbo83”I was in Newport for work for the day and so it was an early start for me. My lad came along as he wanted to join me for breakfast. It was not very busy when we entered, the staff were cheerful, welcoming and friendly. We quickly placed our order at the bar and the customer service was fantastic. Whilst placing our order the staff serving me apologised that there was chocolate and offered an alternative. I grabbed a coffee and went to sit down. The food arrived very quickly but the food was not as hot as I'd have liked. As i was pushed for time I did not report this to staff at the time. However, the food was well presented and taste great. the portion sizes were also spot on.
