I want to start this off by saying my massage therapist was amazing. This review is not a reflection of her, but rather poor choices made by someone in the hotel. I booked a couples massage for me and my husband. I got a prenatal massage and he just got whatever standard 50 minute massage they offered. Our experience with our massage therapists was wonderful. They were kind, professional, and great at their jobs. However, their hotel is currently undergoing renovations and they said while not likely… there could be some noise. They tell you this on the phone when you book. However what they don’t tell you is literally the are doing construction either right next to the spa or above it. At first, the noise didn’t bother me. I heard a little hammering here and there. This is what I expected. Not a big deal. Then the last 10-15 minutes there was jack hammering so loud that the “noise cancelling headphones” they offer you didn’t help at all. When she offered the headphones I declined at first thinking the jack hammer would stop shortly. I didn’t want the headphones to affect my massage. She had just started rubbing my Face and scalp. However, she quickly put them on me and was so insanely apologetic. I didn’t feel sorry for myself. I felt sorry for her and the other staff in the spa. Their job is to relax people, which they’re great at. However, If the hotel can’t provide a temporary accommodation for them where there’s not crazy loud noise that even headphones don’t cancel out… they’re doing their staff a disservice. Again, the massage itself— absolutely wonderful. The experience with the jack hammer right next to our massage room— not wonderful at all. Even my husband was bummed, which is not typical for him.

I booked a "Deeper Darling" massage with Phillip and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. The 5-star review is for him not the spa. I worked in high-end hospitality for 20 years - this spa does not have any frills or luxuries to warrant the big price tag. No locker room, showers or lounging areas. Very disappointed in the spa itself.

Enjoyed a couple services at the spa. I liked the service but there was no access to lockers, showers, etc. Instead, you put your clothes and belongings in a white paper bag and carried it around everywhere. I thought this was awkward for a high end spa. There are other spas in the area that offer these amenities and are more than comparable.

I booked a couples massage for my wife and I for a special occasion. There are a lot of places I could have chosen, but I picked this spa because I thought The Charleston Place would provide for an amazing experience. Unfortunately several things caused this to not be so. We arrived and we're immediately separated into rooms for changing. My wife's was crowded, loud and completely unrelaxing. Mine was empty, but 60 seconds after I was deposited there, they came asking if I was ready. They claimed there was food, tea, etc there but I didn't have time to eat half a cookie let alone make tea. I tried to make time to change at my leisure, but it became abundantly obvious we were on their schedule. We were then ushered into the massage rooms where, again, we felt incredibly rushed. Although I thought my massage was very good, our 50 minute massage lasted only ~40 minutes and my wife's was rushed the whole time. After the massage we were again sent into rooms for changing. My wife claims hers was, again, an absolute chaotic mess of people. For considerably less than half the price we could have gone to a chain or some other local spa and had an arguably better experience. I don't go to Hall's for just a great steak. The experience matters and unfortunately here it just didn't make the cut.
