Customer experiences
Our most disappointing stay in over a decade of visits We stayed at this property with our family over New Year’s Eve 2024–2025, and unfortunately, it was the most disappointing experience we have ever had—not just at this location, but anywhere we have stayed. To provide some context, our family has been returning to this property for over 10 years. While we’ve encountered occasional maintenance issues during past visits (e.g., broken amenities or disruptive repairs), we’ve overlooked them in good faith, as we had otherwise enjoyed our time here. However, our most recent stay was unacceptable on many levels. Despite paying a premium for our visit, we arrived to find the property in extremely poor condition. The spa amenities were nonfunctional, the dining room table was broken in half, the heating system was not working during the middle of winter, and the WiFi was down for two full days. When we raised these concerns with the property manager, Annie, we were met not with concern or accountability, but with unprofessional and accusatory behavior. She claimed, quite shockingly, that our family was to blame for “damaging the property over the past 10 years.” This response was not only deeply offensive but completely inappropriate for someone in a hospitality role. Rather than taking responsibility or attempting to make amends, we were met with defensiveness and blame. Given the ongoing decline in quality, unresolved maintenance issues, and the disrespectful handling of guest concerns, we can no longer recommend this property. Unfortunately, it no longer lives up to its advertised standards, and guests should be prepared for the possibility of unresolved problems and poor service.
Stayed here for a week on spring break in March with 4 kids, not only was it amazing base from which to hike. The place itself is huge, clean and well maintained. The girls loved the hot tubs and the thunderstorm mode! The Views!!!!
This place is just great all across the board. We were there in October 2020 for 3 nights and We were just there February 2021 for 2 nights. It was a quick getaway but so relaxing. We went in October to celebrate my Birthday with friends and family and this time we went just the two of us and it was the best romantic relaxation time we needed. We were definitely not ready to leave this morning. This place has every thing you need to enjoy yourself. The owners have thought of everything. The place was very clean and Ms. Annie is a great host. She makes you feel right at home and we will continue to come back. They also have a great town home on the premises and we have stayed there for my first birthday getaway in 2018 and we keep coming back. The stay spa is an experience everyone should get to enjoy atleast one time. Thank you Ms. Annie and Fred for making this so great for us. Oh the pictures don’t do this place justice, although they are great pictures going in person is way better. Love the hot tub on the upstairs balcony.
We had a great time at the StaySpa with our family. There was plenty of space for everyone and lots of activities for all. The accommodations were excellent and we especially appreciated the massage chairs. We will definitely be back.
The Stay Spa Retreat is a spa.
