Customer experiences
Working with Harry has been great! Working with him has helped to gain a better understanding of myself and my relationships with other. Some things I really appreciates about Harry as a therapist include.... - He has a really calming aura that makes you feel safe and validated. When you talk to him you really get the sense he understands what you are saying or that he is really listening and trying to understand. - Will challenge you and ask you to seek deeper understanding of why you believe certain things (but in a way that respects your boundaries and where you are in your therapy journey) - He is also a meticulous note taker, which has been incredible in helping to see throughlines and connections from some offhand comment you might have made like 3 months ago. It really helps to make those bigger overarching insights. - On top of that he has a lot of knowledge about how the body and mind are connected and helps to gain an awareness of your emotions in a way that is often neglected. If you are reading this, I hope this has been an informative review, and I wish you best of luck on your therapy journey!
If you are an Asian person, especially a younger person who's a first or second generation Canadian/immigrant, and have concerns about your mental health, or just want someone to talk to about your challenges and goals, I would recommend a consultation with Harry. There's nothing to lose and much to gain (as is usually the case whenever you take an active role in your own well-being!) In my consultation with Harry, he took the time to listen and understand my needs, answer my questions, and explain his approaches and policies until I understood. It was a comfortable experience. I also felt fortunate that I had found a therapist who offered the 'bonus' of lived experience of a cultural community/life journey that was relatable to mine. I worked with Harry for about 2 years. During that time, Harry treated me with empathy, respect, dignity, and professionalism. He was fully present at each session, and a good listener. I appreciated how he was ready to pick up from where we had left off at the end of the previous session, having done research and prep work. Harry was able to adapt his approach to my situation and my preferences, rather than stick to one that he preferred. And I also liked how he was always ready to answer my questions about 'therapy stuff' (my term, not Harry's), while giving me apt advice on how much learning about therapy could actually be detrimental for a person in therapy, who has the kind of personality I do, which is to read about everything in depth. This may not be the case for you, but again, that's why it's important for your therapist to be a good fit for you, and adaptable on top of that. That was my experience with Harry. I ended my work with Harry amicably after about 2 years. I'm leaving the door open to resuming therapy with him in the future, because he really did help me a lot with understanding my self, my situation, challenges, and how to achieve my goals. I'd recommend a consultation with him.
Harry was always so attentive, empathetic, and reflective about the experiences I shared with him. It was really important for me to find the right person to share my stories with and after numerous calls with various therapists, I found Harry. As an Asian individual, I felt understood every time I spoke with Harry. He was incredibly comfortable to talk to and that speaks volumes to me from someone who has never went to therapy before. I felt valued even through sharing some deep grief, comparison issues, and dark moments. Thank you for listening and being so down to earth! I appreciate all the work we've done together. I highly highly recommend reaching out and working with Harry.
Prior to starting therapy, I felt disconnected from life, carried a desire for self-improvement without understanding myself fully. Over the past year, my journey with Harry as my therapist has been transformative. I've rekindled my spark for life, experienced greater happiness, and evolved into the best version of myself. Harry has equipped me with invaluable tools, and I am immensely thankful for the positive impact he's had on my life.
Therapy with Harry is a conselheiro.
