I booked Hôtel Universel Québec Sainte-Foy on short notice and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are excellent, and the hotel offers some great amenities. There’s an indoor pool with a jacuzzi, plus a gym—nothing fancy but good enough for a quick workout. Parking is free, which is really convenient. Another nice perk is the direct access to BP, a sports bar connected to the hotel. It’s a great spot to grab food or drinks and watch a game (though everything is in French). Overall, a very solid stay!

If you want Customer Service do not stay here. We were not advised that if we wanted fresh towels & our room cleaned we had to go to the front desk to ask for room service ahead of time as they ignore the "Please Clean My Room" door handle signs !! They also refused to bring clean towels to our room. Nice room with old hard worn out mattress. I was looking forward to staying here as the pool & hot tub area looked so tropical & relaxing. It's in a great location & had 2 restaurants. It was very loud and many children were unsupervised. We have some mobility issues and use a cane & a walker, so we were surprised that this hotel was not very accessible in regards to No Button for automatic door opening, unexpected carpeted ramplike inclines that are not marked and are a safety concern especially when using the suitcase trolley, walkers, wheel chairs & canes. Need more railings beside ramps. We could only find one elevator for a hotel with over 100 rooms. Not very well staffed hotel & front desk did not provide good customer service. This hotel is rather dated with filthy stained carpets throughout, even in the event rooms...so disgusting. The lobby & hallways were humid. This hotel is best for young families with low expectations.

Room were nice but always had a smell we couldn't get rid of, the phone for the front was broken and you need 24hr notice to get your room cleaned. Parking is a zoo and the hotel staff are nice nlbit don't enforce the rules. The spa and pool was the best part and the location is amazing! The bus was right outside and we took it every day to old Quebec!

This hotel was a family favour when kids were young. However it is due for a major upgrade! More than repainting the walls! Enlarge the bathrooms so you can at least place a toiletry bag on a counter and have space for more towels. Shower faucets and head need to be upgraded. I hope to see a change before we book for next year’s trip down east.
