I recently signed up for the Fall Semester, which my employer Amazon Web Service (who is a major partner of UMGC) sent over a 100% tuition payment upon enrollment with confirmation back in May. Roughly 2 weeks prior to start of semester, I noticed that I still had a balance of over $1800. Called and was told that I had to pay the balance. I provided confirmation that the balance was supposed to been paid, which an advisor told me that "no payment was sent". Provided the tracking information and was told that it will be applied. I looked into my employer's career choice portal and noticed that UMGC never applied the payment to the balance. Called again a couple days prior to semester and was told that they can't locate the payment. Went through the process all over again and was told that it will be applied. Day before, haven't been applied. Called again and was told the same thing. I withdrew from the semester at that point as I shouldn't be responsible to pay a balance that AWS is willingly ok with paying but UMGC doesn't want to accept. Since the day that I withdrew, I've received a number of calls almost daily from admission that I haven't answered or returned as I shouldn't have to go months having to explain that all UMGC needs to do was accept the tuition payment.

I’m have been an undergrad student since last spring and will be graduating this upcoming spring. I have had a very positive experience with professors, class content and my success coaches. It is a very convenient way to study as a working adult. The work is intense as the courses are 8 weeks but if you’re dedicated it’s very doable.

When I began my application, multiple different representatives from UMGC Graduate Admissions began reaching out to me constantly (the perceived timeliness and communication impressed me at first), and continued throughout the first several days after enrolling. Many answered questions were asked multiple times, and I began receiving conflicting instructions from different representatives (I chalked this up to the short amount of time between my enrollment and start of classes). My $4k balance was paid in full, doing well academically, but fast forward to week 6 of the semester, and my communications have basically been “ghosted”. Have experienced multiple clerical errors on their end as well (conflicting instruction regarding which transcripts are needed from my few previous degrees, failing to attach received documents to my account, no responses after several weeks to time-sensitive communications like class-scheduling and transfer credit requests). Have already begun searching for a better program elsewhere and recommend all who read this do the same.

Be smarter than me, & don't waste your time here. Despite consistent poor experiences, I tried to take class here. While you might get a good professor, the management of the organization reminds me of a bad used car dealer experiences. Don't worry. They will act friendly while also helping you regret wasting your time considering the school Old: School is not interested in creating a good experience for students from spam level of calls during admissions, to online systems that won't let you log in, & of course the class experience which was best described as a place to get a piece of paper but not actually learn Maybe just create one online to display after watching YouTube. You will be financially better off & probably learn more
