Dr. Kirgan is a decent enough doctor, he was very thorough about my melanoma and what my options were. He suggested surgery as soon as possible. Which ended up scheduled for over a month later. Wouldn't you know they cancelled that original surgery date, a week later, I finally did have the surgery only after waiting for 3 hours in pre op. when it was only supposed to be an hour. They finally did my surgery and would you believe it, they didn't give any directions on how they wanted me to take care of the incision site other than the initial 24 hours after surgery. For instance, keep stitching covered, put medicine or ointment on it etc... so I called the office at least 5 times, they never answered their phone and I had to leave messages. I just wanted to see what they suggested I do, I also believed it was getting infected. I never got a return phone call for any of my messages. In the meantime my stitches had ripped and infection had set in, my GP had to give me antibiotics for it because unlv med. had ghosted me. At my first follow-up visit Dr. Kirgan said he wanted me to see a Medical Oncologist. Then 5 weeks later at my next follow up visit, Dr. Kirgan asks me how it went with medical oncology and I said I didn't get a referral yet. He said, he'd take care of it. As of the date of writing this scathing review, I still have yet to be referred to a medical oncologist, I have called the office (that never answers my calls) at least 3 more times, no answer, left messages, no return phone calls. Wonder what Dr. Kirgan is going to say when I see him later this week. Unfathomable, that it has been almost 2 months now, and no referral to a medical oncologist. They sure don't take things very serious at UNLV Health Family Medicine. Maybe it's a money grab, don't set up the referrals, so patients have to keep returning to see said Doctors, then doctors can keep billing everyone. Cancer is a serious matter, but I guess these clowns don't see it as a serious matter.
Terrible, doctors are nice enough and would most likely be great if they worked some where else. Office staff never calls back, med pre approval process is just horrible. You virtually have to do ever step your self. Getting them to do their job is like raising a toddler. You have to nurse maid them to complete every step of the process. If you have a cold or a hang nail by all means go here, it will most likely heal before they can finish the paper work. 10 out of 10 do not recommend. If you need reliable medical care that you can count on and competent office staff you are better off going somewhere else
Dr. Mailland is a great physician. Caring, thorough and very attentive. Even when he is running late, he still takes the time to sit with me at my appointment to address all of my concerns. Highly recommend Dr. Mailland.
