Great to buy the quantities that you actually need, good selection of pastas, nuts, seeds, spices, sweet treats etc. We regularly get Peanut butter, grind it yourself with the machine into your own pot, brilliant and it's 100% pure peanut butter, cheaper than 100% stuff in the supermarket. Take your own containers, weigh em in the shop, fill em with what you want and they charge you for the weight you have. They have paper bags for some stuff but better if you take your own containers. Not sure if it's any cheaper or dearer, but going on the gram prices, most stuff looks reasonably competitive however we like the convenience and lack of packaging.

A very impressive shop, particularly in their transparency in their effort to be a sustainable and plastic-free alternative. They signpost (as pictured) that they ensure when restocking that they reuse the containers they already have. Great selection of tupperware, dried fruit (dried pear halves were interesting!) and amazing chocolate fudge. Lovely shop and worth a visit!

Opened near the start of summer 2018, Unwrapped is one of the new types of environmentally conscious, "packaging free" food shops. They sell a wide range of products, including beans and pulses, pasta and flours, seeds, nuts, tea and coffee, as well as a selection of washing liquids and soaps. It is intended you bring your own containers to fill, but there are recycled paper bags and it is possible to buy jars. The grind your own peanut butter machine is an interesting addition. For organic and ethically sourced products, prices are reasonable, and often equivalent or cheaper to conventionally packaged equivalents. For a more sustainable way of shopping, Unwrapped is a sensible option. Just don't forget your containers.
