The team at this clinic are incredible. I had to bring my dog in for an urgent visit while traveling from out of town, and they saw us right away. The vet was knowledgeable, caring, and not pushy with costly treatments. He provided the best option for our situation. The whole team made sure my dog was feeling better before we left and helped put my mind at ease too.
Very disappointed with my interaction today with the front desk. My appointment was scheduled for months in advance for a regular checkup and vaccines for my dog. I arrived and was met with a disgruntled staff member saying there’s no doctor in today. She was unapologetic of the situation. When asked if there is flexibility with the schedule considering this appointment was booked months in advance, her reply to almost every question was, we are booked. The vaccines are mandatory for the daycare my dog attends which are approaching expiry and there was no understanding from the staff member. No solution was offered. I later checked my email and found less than 24 hrs notice of my change of appointment to a month later without a phone call or consultation if that day would work for me. It’s disappointing that clinics and services nowadays want customers to respect their time by implementing policies with no-so, rescheduling, or late fees, but when it comes to their customers they are not solution-oriented, understanding, apologetic, or respectful of our schedules just as much. For potential clients at this vet, the expectation here is to call yourself and confirm the appointment months at a time, I guess.
My family and I have been using Barrie Veterinary Hospital for more then 40 years. I honestly cannot count how many animals they have helped us with over the years. Very warming welcomes and knowledgeable staff. Very thorough and informative. They even saved one of my dogs lives by finding a squeeze on her spinal cord and getting me setup with a specialist for spinal cord surgery. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for my pets! Your animals will be taken care of very well if you bring them here!
While the veterinarian and team was lovely, there was a lot of disorganisation. I did use the wellness exam certificate and the first visit was affordable. But then, I was booking for my kittens rabies and booster to be told that I was going to have to pay $125 for another wellness exam plus the cost of vaccinations bringing the total $230 for a service that I was quoted $110 for from my old vet. They were very respectful when I informed them that I'd like to be removed from the client list. At the same time, I'm very disappointed that the services were framed as affordable when later on, it was the most expensive services I found on the market.
