Customer experiences
I had an appointment for an oil change set for January 3 at 4 pm. I arrived around 3:55 or so. The gentleman that checked me in let me know that they were behind and it would be another 30 minutes past the appointment time before they could get my car in for my scheduled service. I let him know that I would’ve appreciated a heads up since I was driving in from Salem but I agreed to wait the extra time since I was already there. At 4:48 the same gentleman came to me and apologized for the delay and then I looked outside and saw my car still sitting outside. I expressed my disappointment and told him I would be leaving instead and that a phone call ahead of time would’ve been appreciated so I could’ve just came later. He mentioned that his manager offered $30 off if I came back, I declined and let him know I would not be returning. So I drove back home with no service to my vehicle and with what I felt like was a very poor solution to a problem that could have been avoided by a simple phone call once they knew things were so backed up (at lunch time). He had mentioned that someone else had been late from lunch and that was what had created the issue. Which I felt was unnecessary to pin it on one person late from lunch and frankly unprofessional to point fingers. At the end of the day, it’s not one persons fault, it takes the whole team to work together and communicate or to provide service like that. I ended up driving to Eugene Volvo where I had a much better experience. It’s much further but I was happy to finally get my car serviced. I hope this will at least help to come up with better protocol for when things aren’t going in a timely manner.
I did my research and was set on purchasing a 2026 Volvo XC60 Plug-In Hybrid AWD Ultra (MSRP $80,310, Fall Allowance $3,000, Sale Price $77,310). I drove 5 hours to Volvo Corvallis. Shanna was friendly, answered my questions, and had the car ready. The dealership shares space with a rundown Nissan lot, which felt odd for a luxury brand. The test drive went fine, but I noticed swirl marks on the black door pillars like it had been through a rough automatic car wash? Then came the finance part. My car’s KBB trade-in value was $26,000, but they only offered $22,000 and barely increased it by $500. When I pushed back, they suggested I sell it somewhere else, and started showing financial quotes with no trade in at all. That $3,000 rebate you see online? You can’t combine it with their “special” financing. With an 850 credit score, they offer 7.5% APR. Said they could go lower only if I gave up the rebate. They showed a finance quote with what at first glance looked like decent monthly payments, but it turned out to be based on an 84-month loan. They never listed the total financed amount anywhere on the sheet. Red flag. Do the math,,,the total loan amount came to over $104,000, including about $25,000 in interest. Please don’t fall for that scam. An hour after I left, they called and said the “general manager” approved another $1,000 for my trade. Still a joke. I went to BMW instead, got 3.5% APR, my full $26K trade value, and a smooth, professional experience. Tip: Always ask for the total finance amount. They will try to pull a fast one on you here.
Colton was incredibly helpful and professional. He was handled my issue quickly and with a great attitude. I really appreciated his patience and clear communication. He made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Great service!
Had to look up the service bulletins for all of my issues to make sure I was covered under warranty and not getting the shaft. They did Fix the Volvo but refused to fix the rat nest it picked up sitting on their lot waiting for service. "You can't prove its from here" and "That's nature". I even said I would pay for the part the rats destroyed if they would give me a deal on it and install it. I now drive to PDX or just do any service myself.
