Kim Day Construction did an exceptional job on our new concrete patio. They handled the challenging task of adding support to our roof and replacing beams with precision. Kim was professional, communicative, and easy to work with throughout the project. I highly recommend them to friends and family for quality construction.

Called Mr. Day from a friend's referral. He came out when he said he was going to, for an estimate. We agreed on a price for just under 500 SQ Ft of additional driveway/RV pad at my house. Mr. Day came out a few days early and knocked it out. He was very patient in explaining everything/care, ect. Before pouring, Mr. Day made sure he understood everything correctly of what I wanted and confirmed again. The result was exactly as expected and for a reasonable price. In a nutshell, Mr. Day delivers as promised. I'm giving an extra star. Good, dependable and communicative contractors are hard to find. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+⭐

I first contacted Kim on 09/29/2022 - He was hired for prep work, forming, concrete flatwork, sidewalks, stairs and double wide driveway/RV pad. They spread gravel, removed gravel, laid rebar, formed, and poured 2.5 truck loads on 10/14/2022 with a pump in perfect weather conditions. It was supposed to be 5" thick and this was a five figure ($) job at avg market rates. 4 days later, we had 9' wide Stair base cracks, these continue for next 30 days. 60 days later one slab of flat work begins to crack. By 02/02/2022 two slabs are cracked. Another month goes by, 3 cracked slabs. 5-months after the pour 4 cracked slabs and not where their supposed to. Driveway was not used until well after 45 days from the initial pour. Kim Day was kept abreast and several times (4) he said he'd address it, never did. I gave up, Sikaflex'd it myself, to prevent severe cracking from freezing water. On the day of the pour Kim refused to add another 3.5" form for a deeper smooth face, told me it didn't work that way and talked to me like I was a child. Jeff from his crew, overheard this and stepped in - said, "no problem" and got it done. Stairs have an outward "bow", forms were not strong enough to hold them flat/level faced. Stair form blew out and they had to get the skid steer bucket in there to hold it. Clean-up was atrocious. Pros: Responsive & aggressive to initially get the job, likable guy, charismatic Cons: Quality, Clean-up, cement splatter, no follow-up, doesn't stand behind work, post job attitude of too far/too busy, no cracking at control joints Kim Day Construction is the 4th cement contractor I've used in 30 years. I take responsibility for choosing him and sadly it wasn't a good decision.
