Customer experiences
My first experience with Woodhouse spa was amazing. Upon entering Woodhouse, the vibe was chill, calm and pleasant. Just what the doctor ordered. A great start to my birthday ! Pretty clean facility, generous offerings, a good selection of services and products. Esthetician Ashley was amazing with the hydra facial, she removed more than meets the eye. Massage Therapist Yana melted my sore shoulders with her medium pressure hands. I would definitely recommend this spa !
Maria I love, love, LOVE! I’ve gone to her several times and it’s been awhile since I’ve been back and she is still just as great! Her pressure is always perfect which is like a medium-hard, so if you prefer soft let her before she leaves the room to let you get out your robe and settled in. She can usually tell if she’s doing a little too hard and always asks if pressure is good. How she messages and areas she hits is always perfect! I prefer not to talk during my messages so she fits perfectly with that. Her energy is calm and carefree. I’m very relaxed the whole time and never feel uncomfortable at any moment! And I have anxiety so shows a lot for me. I would go more often if I could. Prices a little more than used to be and on the higher end. The atmosphere is always great and accommodating. Front desk is attentive. Maria is my forever massage therapist!
I GOT RIPPED OFF. LAZIEST, MOST AMATEURISH MASSAGE EVER RECEIVED Even though they advertise a prenatal massage, the honest label would be “full-body caress”. A prenatal is supposed to help relieve the tensions and aches that come with pregnancy, using up to moderate pressure. At such an expensive place, you expect the therapist to ask you which areas you want focus on and to use expert techniques to relieve/relax you. Instead, my therapist did not ask anything and clearly had no understanding of technique or anatomy. The entire session she rubbed me in a disorganized, lazy, disinterested way. A free massage from my little niece would’ve done more for me. Despite multiple requests for a little more pressure or to focus on an area, she used the same excuse that that’s just how a prenatal is. I’ve gotten many prenatals before; her bad performance wasn’t about caution, it was about lack of skill/will. On one leg, she’d just rub and apply oil; on the other leg, she’d use her elbow in a weird, painful way. In other areas, she’d start rubbing fast and sloppily, causing me nothing but discomfort. My $45 scalp massage add-on was hardly 5 minutes and did nothing. I don’t think this place hires trained therapists. It was so substandard that calling it “mediocre” would be praiseful. They embellish the experience with nice premises and tea, but then deliver nothing in the massage. It felt like the biggest rip-off of my life. The service is super overpriced because the place is nice. Don’t waste your money.
I got the “Mother to Be” package for my birthday, and was absolutely in heaven. I received a prenatal massage and pedicure, and both were phenomenal. I was able to come well before my appointment in order to take a shower first (they had a steam shower, lovely!), and to relax in their comfortable waiting area with a cup of tea. I hope to be able to come back for more treatments in the future.
Woodhouse Spa - North Bethesda is a day spa.
