They were able to quickly schedule a repair date and send a crew of very professional and polite workers. The task was completed quickly and the quality of their repairs is second to none. Adam MacDonad Plumbing Inc. did the plumbing rough-in on a condominium project called the Bell Tower in Cornwall, Ontario. In my unit and in other units Adam MacDonald placed the shower head arm at 90 in. above the floor. Although the Ontario Building Code doesn’t specify a height for the shower head arm the industry standard in Canada is 80 in. above the floor. I'm a male of average height and can’t reach the shower head to adjust the shower settings. Other purchasers have the same issue and have had to call in a plumber for a band-aid solution. When I called Adam MacDonald Plumbing and asked to speak to Adam MacDonald I was told by his gatekeeper/office manager to contact the builder. The builder claims they didn’t provide Adam MacDonald Plumbing with any direction on the height of the shower head arm. I called Adam MacDonald Plumbing a second time and was told by his gatekeeper/office manager they had been instructed by the builder to place the shower head arm at 90 in. above the floor. The office manager claimed they have documentary evidence to that effect. In an email dated Aug. 23, 2024 I asked Adam MacDonald Plumbing to provide me with that evidence but never received a reply. The only one who can shed light on the matter is Adam MacDonald himself but he’s not talking. I have since been told by a junior plumber with Adam MacDonald Plumbing that the plan for the shower head arms submitted by Adam MacDonald would have been approved by the builder. I also learned from him that Adam MacDonald is uncommonly tall, and I wonder if that might explain the height of the shower head arms but Adam MacDonald won’t discuss it which suggests that I'm right. Certainly there are mitigating factors in this case because of the builder but the fact that Adam MacDonald has run away from the issue is a poor reflection on him. Transparency and accountability are the hallmarks of an upstanding firm, and I haven’t seen any evidence of it from Adam MacDonald Plumbing. Their web site reads: “Adam MacDonald Plumbing takes pride in every project we complete. We are equipped with the knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure the job gets done right, the first time”. Not so with the shower head arms at the Bell Tower, and I had to get another plumber to finally get the job done right. It is noteworthy that Adam MacDonald Plumbing hasn't replied to my review. Even more noteworthy is the fact that I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they didn't reply to that either. I suspect that many of the good reviews for Adam MacDonald are fake. This one is not.
