I don’t think I could be any more satisfied with the care I received. I was there for a serious life threatening situation that the staff identified and fixed as fast as possible. Amy, the ER nurse that checked me in, even came to check on me a couple days later just before I was discharged. I have referred many people to Bastrop in the past, but with Smithville’s ability to admit and treat in house I will be rethinking that. Don’t dismiss the small town hospitals.
I got a Colonoscopy. Everyone was so nice, helpful, and professional. They kept me aware of the schedule and when I would be next for surgery. There were three people ahead of me with complications so it took a while to have my colonoscopy. They made sure I was comfortable with blankets and pillows and my position on the bed. They were friendly and visited with my husband and me. They even sent me home with a folder about anesthesia and colonoscopy information before and after surgery. The best part was finding a card of appreciation for letting them take care of me! They also called me the next morning to check on me!
I had day surgery at Smithville Seton on Nov 19, 2025. The hospital staff were amazing to work with. From the time I checked in at the front desk. Very nice and professional. Made me feel at ease even when I was getting a little scared. I know the first nurse was Jarrett and then Connie, Alison, Corrie, Tracy. Not sure who the Nurse/anesthesiologist who came in and did my nerve block. But I’m so thankful he gave me something to make me relax before the blocks were administered. I still felt them, they just were not as bad as they could have been. Older gentleman with white hair. He was great. I am so thankful for all of the staff. Of course Dr. Albrecht was great too.
