Friday 27th I looked up this store. I was met by a lovely Lady who listened to my somewhat confused thoughts about my next project. She helped me pic a wool and gave me most valuable information on how to choose my size. I only wished I lived nearby to be able to have this as my local yarn inspiration and shop. Best recommandations from a Swedish tourist.

I visited Idas house for the first time today . I went for something specific and didn’t get to look round properly because I had an elderly wheelchair user in my care but the two ladies were amazing and served me from the doorway which meant I was able to make my purchase successfully . I will be visiting again hopefully soon to explore the shop properly . Thank you for being so kind and helpful and I really look forward to visiting again soon

If you are a already a compulsive knitter or want to start knitting, a visit to Ida's House in Lewes is an absolute must. They have a wide range of wonderful yarns plus every accessory you are likely to need, but most of all Jayne and Caroline will guide and advise you whatever your query. They also run brilliant workshops. Do check them out - and also check their opening days/times before you visit.

Jane and Caroline are the sweetest, most welcoming, down to earth, skilled, attentive if you need it, patient, kindest, funny, helpful women I have ever met in a knitting shop. You can stay as long as you like- sit and knit or just admire the gorgeous range and colours of wool.
