I have a property in Oshawa that I have owned for many years. I am not a landlord. I am just a homeowner who has periods where she has not lived in Oshawa but not wanted to sell her home. After two back-to-back devastating experiences with tenants wherein my property was destroyed - imagine shattered bathroom vanity, dog and cat feces left inside everywhere upon their eviction, sunken driveway from a snowplow, etc., I never wanted to go through that again and was incredibly hesitant to ever have tenants. When a few years ago my husband and I needed to move away for work, we knew we had to find a property manager. I did a lot of research but was still extremely nervous and worried that they wouldn't do much and if they did, there would be tons of hidden fees. That has not been my experience at all! Buttonwood are SO incredibly mature in their approach and operations. You know exactly what you are getting because they have defined checklists, procedures and documents that outline it all ... and they deliver it! Their financial management and documents are top notch and make my tax filing so easy. When a contractor is required, they secure the contractors and their quotes are not marked up - I've hired enough to know. In fact, they often pass down their contractor discount to you. My experience renting my house through them has been so pain free compared to when I tried to do it alone. I'd highly recommend.
