Customer experiences
Terrible hospital. I went to the ER for abdominal pain they ended up admitting me for pain and treating me well in the ER but once I got upstairs it was a whole different story. Rude nurses, staff, doctors did not listen to anything I had to say. I had to advocate for iv fluids when I was on a nothing by mouth diet. Finally started treatment with fluids and meds through Iv. Then abruptly took me off everything when I was still in pain and vomiting and was offered Tylenol. Well I can get that at home but I can’t keep it down. Would not release me until my pain was under control, but refused to give me pain meds or anti nausea medication. I finally signed myself out after 5 days. I was treated like a junkie looking for my fix when all I wanted was to not be in pain and nauseous anymore. What I also wanted was a doctor that would listen to me, a nurse that actually cared and a staff that didn’t make me feel so low. No matter what the emergency, I will NEVER step foot in this hospital again. I will say Maxwell, a nurse from the 5th floor, was an absolute joy and advocated for me but I unfortunately only had him twice.
I still don't have the mental strength to evaluate my experience. The level of disregard and negligence will never be forgotten. I hope you improve one day. I never want to return to this establishment. 1,421.93 spent and I left without any assistance! This charge doesn't make any sense since they didn't even touch or evaluate me! As for the home recommendation, I'd rather not comment!
First time visiting the area, I was in the hospital due to visiting family of mine Giving birth to her first child, and I had the rudest experience in labor and delivery in that hospital. (10-31)That I've ever had in a hospital. We called three separate times for a nurse. Once before shift change once during. And once after each time we were told, we'll have a nurse in there immediately, we'll call your nurse right now. Not one time, did a nurse come in in over 25 minutes. I finally had to go physically to the nurse's station to ask for help. For my family member who was in active labor to come to the room, and I got the worst snottiest attitude from the nurse behind the desk. She literally snapped at me telling me she had just got there. And she didn't know what i expected her to do she would be there as soon as possible. She couldn't log in yet and I told her we had been calling for help, and she told me no I just answered the call. You haven't been calling this lady. Snapped at me and raised her voice. I had to literally be insistent on her coming in the room and then even after coming in the room with me. She kept telling her patient. I don't know what you expect me to do. I can't log in. I can't log in well. Excuse me, you don't have to log in to take notes. Check your patient due to this nurse's ignorant Attitude, My family member was suffering in my eyes. It ended up being when the nurse finally got her hooked up on the monitor after about 15 minutes. Yeah, they ended up having to code her and send her into the OR for an emergency C. Section because the baby's heartbeat was failing. It's a good thing mom and baby survived. Because I would have screamed at that nurse and I would have been filing a grievance. I still have half the mind too, and by the way this nurse's name was Rachel, and she was the nurse on the M floor.. I was also informed this nurse is always extremely brash and rude to patients and their family members . After delivering the baby we we're headed to recovery to see mom and baby. Rachel literally yelled at the security lady at the desk, who had to call back and ask if we could go into recovery in labor and delivery. If it was okay. She was literally just doing her job. Asking the appropriate questions and Rachel literally raised her voice and yelled at her like she was a dog. I am not impressed with this nurse. I do not know how you guys can even have her. As a nurse or how she has even managed to stay there as a nurse. I know the hospital's here where I'm from. She would have already been reprimanded and lost her job. She is absolutely ridiculous to have as a labor and delivery nurse. Absolutely ridiculous. So that is why you guys are only getting a 2 star rating when actually I shouldn't even give you that, but I'm being gracious. Because of the rest of your staff was absolutely Absolutely phenomenally wonderful.
I had my second son here about 6 weeks ago, I only have one older son who I had in Dover (not the best experience) and the care I received at Christiana was nothing short of exceptional. I personally would like to recognize Dr. Chithranjan as she was extremely compassionate, reliable, and personable. All while not lacking professionalism. Thank you so much Dr. Chithranjan for adding comfort and extensive care to my extremely anxious experience. You are truly heaven sent and I hope you see this and know the impact you had on this birth experience, and how incomparable it is to my first, in the best way.
