The fact that they still have these patients on a modified COVID scheduled is horrible to me; especially when they are dealing with a population with SMI; having a connection to family is essential to self development and community re-entry. The set in place is flawed and a serious barrier for an individual that lack the ability to navigate the hoops you must jump through to facilitate a visit. Clifton T Perkins has gone down hill on so many levels.

What a horrific "hell pit" of a "hospital" (prison) CT Perkins is. The "patients" (prisoners) are usually miserable, as is the staff. I spent 5 long punishing years there, and hope and pray I never return.

It has been a roller coaster ride with this facility. I have met some human beings with heart and soul, and I have the others who are everything but human. My loved one completed package slip to receive package from home. He had turned in his slip to the social worker but apparently the ship taking the slip from social worker’s office to the security desk must have sank both times. On one occasion, he retained a copy of the approved completed slip and believed his slip to be at the desk. We drove about three hours with his items and the slip still was not there. The ladies at the desk on 8/25/2018 were everything but courteous. Theiy were short and abrupt in the manner they spoke to us. The vibes they radiate is that of nonchalant attitude. We asked for a phone number to reach the social worker, and were told that she does not even know who the social worker was, let alone the phone number. I can’t think of an establishment without a phone directory. That speaks to their lack of love, compassion and empathy. They had an out slip with them but stated the items going out did not make it to the desk and that my loved one should make sure the slip and his items got to them. How can that be done when the clients have to depend on the staff to send the slip downstairs. I take care of the sick everyday and my clients family members can go to sleep knowing their loved ones are cared for like family. Not in this place. You are a patient when any other system/ organ in your body malfunction s, but basically become and is treated like an animal when that sick organ is the brain, the control station for all the organs in the body. Such a shame!

I have a family member there that has been in numerous facilities over the last 22 years. His treatment team at Perkins was the first to address his illness and treat him effectively . The symptoms of his illness have been under control for almost 3 years now. They are consistent with rules and regulations necessary for this type of facility. The staff are understanding with patients family. I cant say enough about the good work they do.

Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center is a psychiatric hospital.
