This is a budget motel located in a rundown part of Lodi. I booked a room with 2 queen beds, and while the beds were clean and the mattresses were reasonably firm, the room smelled of cigarette smoke or weed that had been unsuccessfully deodorized with a citrus scent. The smoke alarm in my room was missing and the security lock on the door was broken as if the door had been forcibly breached at some time. Beds are on raised metal platforms that make noise when sitting on or rising from the bed. The pool was clean but unheated. The hot tub was also cold and smelled of feces. Vending machines with soft drinks are located next to the office and the cost of a can of soda is $2. A better option for drinks and snacks is the gas station half a block down the street. Refrigerator and microwave both worked. The TV has a huge selection of satellite channels. Shower has good pressure and reliable temperature control. One small bottle of shampoo and two small soap bars were available in the in room sink. The advertised breakfast was a huge disappointment with only a few slices of bread, two types of dry cereal and coffee available. Once again, the gas station across the street is a better option. There's also a donut shop across the street and a convenience store a couple of blocks away. Not saying this is acceptable as the motel advertised that breakfast is included, but it is an option as the motel's breakfast sucks.

Not all Econo Lodge experiences are created equal. This one offered a great experience with surprising benefits. The desk host, Peter, was pleasant and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and had a microwave and fridge. There wasn't anything broken and everything worked. There was even a 50 inch TV. If you're looking for a clean and affordable overnight right off the 99, this Econo Lodge hits both categories out of the park

The hotel staff were incredibly nice, and understanding, housekeeping was nice and respected our wishes to not have our room cleaned during our extended stay. The staff was extremely nice, they respected our space and didn’t harass us in any way. Cozy environment. Not the best neighborhood no but we had no trouble during our stay. The prices are reasonable! Rooms were clean, plenty of parking. Gas station and liquor store within a very short walking distance. Fast food restaurants were also within a short walk.

If you need an affordable place to stay and you don’t care about the condition, then this is the place for you. however, I was looking for a place that was affordable and on the choice rewards plan. I’m not very happy with what I got. The room was OK. After all, we are just sleeping in it for one night. However, the amenities that are advertised on the website are not accurate. The swimming pool was filled with garbage and we had to fish it out. That can be expected sometimes, but obviously there’s no one maintaining the pool or watching to clean up the details for guests. The hot tub was closed. It was filled with garbage. There are open cans of ravioli and other things. So there was no need to use the hot tub after all, the long stay guests must be using it as a garbage can. I’m not sure. It was mostly empty of water and did look broken. The breakfast has always been a nice option when we stay at other choice hotels but this particular hotel only had cereal or toast maybe an apple or orange. That’s not what I was expecting when I stay at other choice rewards hotels and get a little bit more food options than that
