Overall Herb is a great insurance agent and is very knowledgeable about the products he sells. He's also very knowledgeable about getting you in touch with the right people when and if you have a claim. When contacting Herb, sometimes he is quite busy, but you can leave a voicemail or you can text his office phone and he'll get back to you as soon as he can.

Herb is the best! He is so knowledgeable in what he does and takes the time to explain everything. Because of that knowledge he can get me and our clients the best rates. I had a concerning experience involving Herb Kosterlitz and Farmers Insurance. My husband, sister, and I were mistakenly added to a $1000 auto insurance policy with Farmers, despite never having been customers of the company. Unfortunately, the resolution process was disappointing. Although I offered documentation proving we are insured through another provider and reside at a different address, Mr. Kosterlitz declined to accept provided docs. Instead, he requested highly sensitive personal documents such as tax returns, passports, and verification of driver's license numbers and dates of birth — which seemed excessive and inappropriate given we had no prior relationship with Farmers. When I requested escalation to a manager for clarification on how this error occurred, Mr. Kosterlitz attributed the issue to a technological mishap and did not provide further support. Additionally, he gave conflicting information about who he worked for, which raised further concerns. Finally, we were removed from the policy but due to this experience, I am left with serious concerns about the handling of personal information and the overall accountability within this agency. I would caution others to avoid Herb and this company if possible.
