I have lived in one of Friedrich properties for four years. I loved the place from the first day, and I never have any issues with the rented unit or with the remanagement. Friedrich, in my experience, is a solid, reliable and professional company. I did, in the past, and I will continue to recommend it to whomever is looking to rent in the area of Ames.

It's all about the people! DEFINITELY start with Friedrich apartments if you're ready to rent in Ames. They have lots of different properties with different styles of apartments throughout Ames. ( Including the unique and award-winning 1950s brick-home-style apartments on Douglas avenue where I live now). The rent seems to be right at, and sometimes a touch below the Ames-norm. Their maintenance people are top notch. Anytime anything was broken or just needed some adjustment or a simple low priority inspection, their in-house maintenance staff was all over it! Also Within 6 hours of our air conditioner breaking down RIGHT at the beginning of the 90 degree 2018 summer heat, WHEN MOST PEOPLE IN ANY MARKET OFTEN HAVE TO WAIT A FEW DAYS AT THAT TIME OF YEAR, MY PLACE WAS NICE AND COOL BY THE TIME I GOT HOME FROM WORK! Jamie and the crew at Harvest Heating were dispatched and done before I knew it, and illustrates their relationships with vendors and other companies. Like mom always said, tell me with whom you associate and I'll tell you who you are! :-) I have never had to dispute any issue with Friedrich. I have always been able to get ahold of somebody when I needed them. All the gals in the office are always friendly, efficient, and really seem to care about their tenants. And that's where any rental experience starts, and often ends for a person. Again, it's all about the people. I've never had better landlords than the Friedrich Apartments rental team, and between military and career, I've lived in over 20 places in 12 States. This feedback is also based on my renting of three different Friedrich apartments since I've lived in Ames. Sure, there are other great renters out there, and none are perfect. But this is probably the only company where I've experienced nothing but professionalism, courtesy, honesty, integrity, flexible accommodation of my unique renter's situation, and people who actually CARE, all at one property management company. When renting an Ames, without a doubt call Friedrich first. AND BECAUSE OF MY POSITIVE EXPERIENCES WITH THEM, IF I EVER BUY A HOME IN AMES, I'M DEFINITELY STARTING AT FRIEDRICH REALTY FIRST TOO! :-) OH! All 3 places I rented came with free basic cable and $5/month Mediacom internet with consistent download speeds well over 60mbps.

Rented for a year while in Ames - Great property manager! They promptly fixed any issues and kept their Bobcat unit in great condition! Awesome team at Friedrich

I have been using their services for three years--2 different properties during the time--and overall I wouldn't recommend them as an option. If I ever come back here (Ames, IA) I will highly likely choose the alternatives like Furman or Hunziker or PWP. They are overly priced and service is a bit scheit... The second apartment I rented from them was pretty but disgustingly dirty and I had to clean all that before settling in. And when I asked about if the inspection and cleaning by professionals were done, they said "yes"--of course they did--I still doubt it. And I am sure they confiscated a portion of the deposit from the previous tenant, with the excuse of cleaning...
