Just picked our dog Marco up for his third boarding at Good Dog. Marco is a Formosan Mountain Dog rescue and is reactive and takes some extra care. At Good Dog he has his own space where he is comfortable and they are great with communicating with us about how he does daily. It is great to feel confident that he will be safe and treated well while we are away. Thanks again to all the staff for being so kind and patient with Marco.
i have been taking my dogs to good dog (both locations) for many years now. my previous dog, milla, was reactive and wary of strangers, but the staff here took wonderful care of her when we would go on vacation. it was such a relief to know we could trust her (and she trusted them!) in their care. our current dog, yumi, is more outgoing but has some health issues and needs daily medications and eats a restricted diet. she also tends to get overstimulated when in big groups of dogs, but the staff here take good care of her when we are away and do not hesitate to reach out if they observe anything that could be out of the norm, which i appreciate given her medical needs! the people who work at good dog are also very accommodating to last minute changes in plans due to emergencies, and i love getting the daily report cards (i have so many cute photos and videos!). highly recommend if you have dogs with special needs or just want to be sure your dogs are well taken care of.
I would recommend that if you have specific requests that you want listened to, you go somewhere else. For instance, if you say that you “absolutely do not want the dog shaved down” to a doodle coat because he has beautiful wavy fur that you want to keep… if you also say that there are specific parts like the sanitary areas and the armpits that DO need shaving because of some possible matting… it is entirely possible that your dog will be returned to you shaved down to a doodle coat despite your request to the contrary.
