Customer experiences

I had a very poor experience with the professionalism, communication and customer service at this service department. I made an “appointment” for service which I later learned was not actually an appointment in the traditional sense. I arrived on time for my appointment however Gresham Ford did not keep up their end of the commitment and see my car in a reasonable time frame. There was a negligent disregard for my time and life’s schedule. My “appointment” time meant nothing as my car would wait untouched until they got around to looking into my check engine light. It sat for a whole day untouched for my diagnostic appointment. This is an appointment that should not take 48hrs to complete. My time as the customer was not valuable to them. A feeling I get all too often in retail/service these days. I left feeling so defeated and shocked that I plan to move service for all of our vehicles to another local Ford dealership. I’ve always preferred paying a bit more and getting our vehicles serviced at a Ford dealership rather than private automotive shops however the lack of professionalism and the way I was treated is making me second guess this framework.

20 years of business. My last 5 vehicles have been from this place. I put my trust in them for that long. My car, which has a Ford service plan, was denied and I was basically told to kick-rocks because they aren't equipped to do repairs on a vehicle THEY SOLD ME! I guess my next car is coming from a reputable dealer.

If you believe that making an appointment at a car dealership service department means your vehicle will be seen anywhere near the scheduled time, Gresham Ford is here to relieve you of that quaint notion. I booked a 1:00 PM slot to have my truck’s check engine light diagnosed, a job that, once started, would take all of ten minutes. Instead, my truck spent hours marooned in the back lot, untouched, while I sat wondering what “appointment” even means to this business. The issue isn’t that car repairs take time; customers understand that. The issue is the complete absence of respect for a customer’s schedule. An appointment is an agreement. I will arrive on time, and you will have resources ready to begin the work within a reasonable window. At Gresham Ford, that agreement feels entirely one sided. They collect the vehicle on schedule, then disappear it into a holding pen until staff eventually gets around to it, maybe the same day, maybe the next, or maybe sometime before your next oil change. The practical takeaway? If you need to use this service department, don’t expect to be in and out. Make plans to drop off your vehicle, take an Uber home, and wait anywhere from a day to a week for a phone call with your diagnosis. In an industry where other dealerships are competing for customer loyalty by respecting appointment times, Gresham Ford’s approach feels outdated, inefficient, and, frankly, dismissive. Service departments live and die by trust and time management. Gresham Ford’s service department, at least in my experience, has chosen to squander both.

I went in for a pre-purchase inspection. Not only did they get me in right away, but they did a very thorough job. And on top of that they gave me a complimentary service! I have a fear of dealerships from bad experiences, but this experience was absolutely delightful.
