I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at Hendricks Hospital. Last Thursday night, I brought my wife to the emergency room, and we were immediately impressed. She was called back right away and evaluated by some of the kindest, most attentive nurses we’ve ever encountered. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, compassionate, and genuinely caring. After she was admitted due to her illness, the outstanding care continued. Brian, Moe, Charge Nurse Maria (day shift), Leslie, Andrea, Francesca and Charge Nurse Maria (night shift) all went above and beyond to make sure my wife was comfortable and well cared for. Their professionalism, teamwork, and warmth truly stood out. You can tell they care deeply about their patients. They all provided phenomenal service — something we honestly have not experienced at any other hospital before and we were also incredibly impressed with the kitchen staff. During a stressful time for our family, the entire team made us feel supported and confident that my wife was receiving the best care possible. Because of this experience, we will absolutely choose Hendricks Hospital for any future healthcare needs. Thank you all for your compassion and dedication — it truly makes a difference.

From sitting in the waiting room doubled over in pain having to listen to The Big bang theory's laugh track louder than anything in the room. Combined with the sheer uncaring attitude of every single person that was involved with my care. This experience was a nightmare. From the time I was actually brought to a room it took them nearly 45 minutes to give me anything for the pain. They showed up to attempt a CAT scan before even I was administered anything and I refused until I had something to stop the pain. I had not urinated in over 24 hours at that point due to extreme pain. No one seemed to care anything about that. To add insult to injury the nurses station in the ER was just basically a party: continuous laughter, cutting up, and conversations going on there while everyone that was there for care was being ignored. I would not recommend this ER based on wait times alone, but the unprofessionalism of the care providers cements this as an ER to actively avoid. In the future, despite the fact that this is the closest ER to my location, I will make a point to go anywhere else. I could have found people who cared more about my condition if I stumbled into a convenience store.

Hey fun fact. Did you know that you can magically grow a gallbladder in just 15 short days now? 🙃😂 I went to the ER in pain last night for my kidneys yet again. The ER physician told me my kidneys, liver, spleen, and gallbladder is " working perfectly" "everything is great" ....I haven't had a gallbladder since 2013. And I definitely didn't have one 2 weeks ago when I went in and had the severe kidney infection. He then proceeded to ask me if my meds helped at all. I was never given any. He said he was ordering them and I would get them ASAP and he leaves. I ask the nurse to speak with him AGAIN and he argued that I "do in fact have a gallbladder" and "everyone does". I give up and he leaves. Not even 5 minutes later the nurse comes back in to discharge me and remove my IV. At this point my husband is LIVID. He says "You're not taking that out until she gets her meds. She's in pain and her blood pressure shows it." The nurse says none were ever ordered but she was going to go check again. She comes back not even a whole minute later with the meds and says "I got em!". Just Toradol. PERFECT! The only thing I was listened to me about was meds that wouldn't make me loopy. Discharged home with a "beautifully functioning gallbladder" which the app with my scan results show otherwise (it's for sure not there. SHOCKER!), along with non-obstructing kidney stones, thickening of the bladder on one side, and an angry significant other. Thanks Hendricks. 🙃😭😂

My review will be mixed. The ER staff and doctor working Saturday night were horrible to my parents. My mom who has has an inflamed gallbladder full of stones, was at Hendrick just last week getting a stent put in and a stone removed from her duct. Over the weekend started to feel horrible pain. She was told by her doctor to get to the Hendrick south ER and they treated her like shit. Like she was an inconvenience to them. The ER should be a safe space for people in pain with caring bedside manners but they were rude, especially the young taller male doctor with blonde hair working on call. They insinuated she was there just to get pain medication! He asked her if she was on drugs! They wouldnt treat her til she was able to give them a urine sample over an hour into waiting. And they put her IV in the inside of her arm where it was painful to add medication. It was burning and no one would redo it in her hand where she has specifically asked them to have it. Her arm swelled up and had to have it moved to her other arm in her hand. My 60 year old mother in excruciating pain! She was finally admitted where she seen Dr chako (Amazing woman) my family is very appreciative of her care. Sunday, she was able to have her surgery by Dr Needham who took great care of her. Nurses on the second floor are also amazing! (Shout out to nurse MaGlenda and Kethia! They are the best!)
